References section[edit]

The interview dates all cite the same 5 pages linked at: [1] based on the subject's last name (e.g. A-D). So I propose adding a references section so that each link can be maintained in just one place. Any objections? DougHill (talk) 21:26, 9 July 2013 (UTC)Reply

OK, I did this for the A-D names; this should show what I mean. If there are no objections, then I will continue. DougHill (talk) 03:43, 10 July 2013 (UTC)Reply
Wikiquote generally avoids footnote citations. Instead we keep the complete citation together with the quote, as integral to the art of quotation. I confess that I have used footnotes for supplemental bibliographic details on a very few occasions. They have always been moved into the body of the article or, at least, tagged for cleanup. I recommend against doing this, particularly since consolidating the links does not remove redundancy in the readable text of the article. ~ Ningauble (talk) 18:26, 10 July 2013 (UTC)Reply
OK, I did not proceed with that. But I did create a reference for [2]; doing so did reduce redundancy and made the section more readable. DougHill (talk) 06:31, 3 October 2014 (UTC)Reply
