This is the talk page for discussing improvements to the South Park page.

This article falls within a proposed limits on quotations policy.

The subject of this article is a television show, and as a result, the proposal would set a limitation of one quote for less than 30 minutes, two quotes for 30 minute shows, and five quotes for 60 minute shows (see our TV policy for shows of other lengths).

If you would like to add another quote to the page, you should consider whether to remove one that is already there in order to keep within the bounds of fair use of copyright material.

Content merged from Red Man's Greed[edit]

I've merged in the quotes from that page into this one. The edit history for the Red Man's Greed page:

"Unknown episode" vs "Quotes by character" section title[edit]

I've changed the section header for the non-episode-group quotes back to "Unknown episode" from "Quotes by character." There are a couple of reasons for this: 1) the Wikiquote TV format template uses "Unknown episode", and 2) "Unknown episode" implies that the quotes will eventually be moved to an episode, whereas "Quotes by character" implies that the section is permanent, which it shouldn't be (the goal is to source all of the quotes to an episode). —LrdChaos 04:04, 7 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Merger[edit]

I disagree with this merger because most of the quotes that people remember from South Park from Eric Cartman. There are quotes on there, as well. Dev920 20:59, 27 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

  • I disagree with merging, Cartman has had too many quotable lines, I can imagine quite a few people would be pleased to find them collected in one place. Cheers! BD2412 T 01:51, 17 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Huge article[edit]

Most of these quotes aren't memorable. With 10 years' worth of material to work with, doesn't anyone think the really significant quotes should be separated from...well, the scripts of the episodes? --Vyran 22:52, 7 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I agree completely, its like someone just went through every script of every episode and tried to pick stuff out of every single one. Maybe the MOMENTS were funny, at the time, while you watch it, but reading it, isnt funny at all. Some lines are memorable enough to be funny even while read, where are THOSE? These quotes arent entertaining to read, at all.Trix 04:32, 31 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Ok[edit]

Ok so South Park make new Episodes ever year and so we can't go and put in the new Episode what do we do

mistakes[edit]

The quotations of "red hot catholic love" are wrong. E.g. it has to be "having sex with boys is part of the Catholic priest's way of life" instead of "Father, having sex with little boys is part of being a priest." I also think it has to be "rebel" instead of "rabble". It seems like nobody checked the quotations for reliableness. red hot catholic love script Big-B_36 18:50, Dec.28th 2006 (CET)

Missing episodes?[edit]

Are we missing some episodes? According to Wikiquote, season 2 only has 14 episodes, while according to Wikipedia, it has 18. That's too bad, I was hoping for the quote from "Cow Days" about 'Do you wish to declare shenanigans on these carnival operators...' ~

Cartman and Stan[edit]

Could we add this conversation between Cartman and Stan in "The Passion of The Jew":

                           MEL GIBSON FAN CLUB
                      [the phone rings. Cartman answers.]
                                    CARTMAN
Mel Gibson's The Passion Fan Club.
                                      STAN
Hi, uh, my friend and I just went to
                        see The Passion

                                    CARTMAN
Uh huh, and so you want to join the
fan club now. Our first meeting is at
                        5:30 p.m.

                                    STAN
Nonono, no, we want our money back.

                                    CARTMAN
                        What?
                                    STAN
We think the movie sucked and we want
Mel Gibson to give us back our eighteen
dollars. Do you know how we can get
                        in touch with him?

                                    CARTMAN
You thought it sucked? Sir, apparently,
you don't understand what Mel Gibson
was trying to do! He was trying to express,
through cinema, the horror and filthiness
of the common Jew. It has made people
over the world open their eyes.

                                    STAN
Look, kid, we just thought it was a
bad movie, so tell us how to get in
touch with Mel Gibson so we can get
                        our money back!

                                    CARTMAN
If I knew where Mel Gibson was, I'd
be down on the floor licking his balls
at this very moment, sir. All I know
is he lives somewhere in Malibu. Now
stop wasting me and Mel Gibson's time,
                        you little wussy prick.

                                    STAN
Hey, don't take that tone with me, kid!
                        I'll kick your ass!

                                    CARTMAN
Ohoh yeah?! I'd like to see you try,
asshole! I'm like six feet tall!

                                    STAN
I don't care! You sound like a little
                        bitch to me!

                                    CARTMAN
Bitch?! Don't call me bitch! I'll pop
                        your fuckin' head open!

                                    STAN
Yeah?! You wanna bring it, you little
                        pussy?!

                                    CARTMAN
I already brought it, bitch! I brought
it, set it down on the table and opened
                        it, bitch!

                                    STAN
                         Wait a minute. Cartman?!
                                    CARTMAN
                        Eup.

Imaginationland II[edit]

This was one of the most quotable episodes I've ever seen. If anybody TIVO'ed this, go through and there are a lot of great ones. I specifically want to know the exact wording of the quote by Beary the Bear about how they can't pee in her eye socket unless they have AIDS.

TOC broken[edit]

This custom TOC does not appear to be working for many (if not all) of the episodes - the links do not work. ~ UDScott 17:34, 31 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

A lot of the episode section headings are formatted asymmetrically from the TOC links that reference them. I've started to change them back, but as you can see it's a large job. If someone can write a quick script to replace
== Episode name [x.y] ==
with
== Episode name (x.yy) ==
...throughout the entire wikicode page, then it can get done pretty fast. I'm not sure how to do that, so I will just sort of keep chipping away at it. Zenswashbuckler 21:35, 5 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Censorship and Ass - Arse[edit]

An IP address has censored some of the expletives, for example replacing "fuck" with "freak" and God* with "gosh". I have reverted this on the grounds that Wikipedia is not censored, but have now noticed that someone has replaced the word "ass" with "arse". While I am one who dislikes Americanisms when they creep in and take over, I would make two points: firstly, if they are changed the quotes are no longer, well, quotes and it's an American programme, made in America so they say ass, not arse. (well maybe except Pip). So as Cartman would probably say, us monarchy boys just have to suck it up. . Questions? Comments? Britmax 19:51, 17 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Carlos Mencia "at Kanye West's mansion"[edit]

Somehow I doubt Carlos Mencia was tied up at Kanye West's mansion. I'm suspecting it was at his own house, due to the fact there was a large portrait of Carlos Mencia in the room he was tied up in.

Last Words[edit]

We should totally add a last words in south park media due to south park has people that actually died in the series.(StarWarsFanBoy (talk) 03:46, 19 July 2017 (UTC))[reply]
