She's happy as can be, you know,

She's so glad she's telling all the world.

  • My love don't give me presents.
I know that she's no peasant,
Only ever has to give me love forever and forever.

People tell me that she's only
    Foolin', I know she isn't.

  • Try to see it my way
Do I have to keep on talking 'til I can't go on?

    We can work it out.

  • Dear Sir or Madam, will you read my book?

But when I get home to you,
I find the things that you do,
    Will make me feel alright.
  • You know I work all day,
To get you money to buy you things,
And it's worth it just to hear you say,
    You're gonna give me ev'rything,
So why on earth should I moan,
‘Cos when I get you alone, You know I feel okay.

    Than just holding hands.

Beatles for Sale (1964)[edit]

With another man in my place.

  • One day you'll look and see I've gone,
For tomorrow may rain so I'll follow the sun.
Some day you'll know I was the one,
But tomorrow may rain so I'll follow the sun.
  • Ooh I need your love babe, guess you know it's true,

You're going to lose that girl.

Baby, you can drive my car, and maybe I'll love you.
  • When I call you up,
    Your line's engaged.
    I have had enough,

And I will lose my mind
    If you won't see me.
  • He's a real Nowhere Man,
    Sitting in his Nowhere Land,
Making all his Nowhere plans for nobody.
Doesn't have a point of view,
Knows not where he's going to,
Isn't he a bit like you and me?
  • Say the word and you'll be free.
Say the word and be like me.
Say the word I'm thinking of.
Have you heard the word is love?
    It's so fine, it's sunshine.
    It's the word, love.

Will she still believe it when he's dead?
    Ah girl, girl.
  • Why, tell me why, did you not treat me right?
Love has a nasty habit of disappearing overnight.
  • There are places I'll remember
All my life though some have changed.
    Some forever not for better.
Some have gone and some remain.
All these places have their moments
With lovers and friends I still can recall.
Some are dead and some are living.
In my life, I've loved them all.
  • Though I know I'll never lose affection
For people and things that went before
I know I'll often stop and think about them
In my life I love you more.
    • In My Life
  • Well I'd rather see you dead, little girl
Than to be with another man.
You better keep your head, little girl
    Or I won't know where I am.

You better run for your life if you can, little girl
Hide your head in the sand little girl.
    Catch you with another man,
    That's the end'a little girl.

Revolver (1966)[edit]

    Lives in a dream.
Waits at the window, wearing a face that she keeps in a jar by the door,

All the lonely people, where do they all belong?
  • Father McKenzie, writing the words of a sermon that no-one will hear,
    No one comes near
Look at him working, darning his socks in the night when there's nobody there,
    What does he care?
All the lonely people, where do they all come from?
All the lonely people, where do they all belong?
    • Eleanor Rigby
  • Here, making each day of the year,
Changing my life with the wave of her hand.
Nobody can deny that there's something there.

There, running my hands through her hair.
Both of us thinking how good it can be.
Someone is speaking but she doesn't know he's there.

I want her everywhere and if she's beside me
I know I need never care.
But to love her is to need her everywhere.
Knowing that love is to share.

Till we found the sea of green,
And we lived beneath the waves,
    In our yellow submarine.

I've got something I can laugh about.
I feel good in a special way,
I'm in love and it's a sunny day.
  • You tell me that you've got everything you want
    And your bird can sing.
But you don't get me, you don't get me.
  • And in her eyes you see nothing,
No sign of love behind the tears
    Cried for no one.
A love that should have lasted years!

You want her, you need her.
And yet you don't believe her when she said her love is dead.
    You think she needs you.

  • I was alone, I took a ride,
I didn't know what I would find there.
Another road where maybe I could see another kind of mind there.

  • It was twenty years ago today,
That Sgt. Pepper taught the band to play.
They've been going in and out of style,
But they're guaranteed to raise a smile.
So may I introduce to you
The act you've known for all these years,
Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band.
  • What would you think if I sang out of tune?
Would you stand up and walk out on me?
Lend me your ears and I'll sing you a song,
And I'll try not to sing out of key.

I get high with a little help from my friends,
I'm gonna try with a little help from my friends.

The teachers who taught me weren't cool.
You're holding me down, turning me round
Filling me up with your rules.
I've got to admit it's getting better,
A little better all the time.
  • I'm fixing a hole where the rain gets in
And stops my mind from wandering
    Where will it go.
  • We were talking
About the space between us all.
And the people who hide themselves
    Behind a wall of illusion
    Never glimpse the truth.
    Then it's far too late
    When they pass away.
  • When I get older losing my hair,
    Many years from now.
Will you still be sending me a valentine,
    Birthday greetings bottle of wine?
If I'd been out till quarter to three
    Would you lock the door?
Will you still need me, will you still feed me
    When I'm sixty-four?
  • Lovely Rita meter maid, nothing can come between us.

  • Going to work don't want to go feeling low down;
Heading for home you start to roam then you're in town.
    Everybody knows there's nothing doing;

And you're on your own, you're in the street.
    Good morning, good morning.
  • I read the news today, oh boy.
About a lucky man who made the grade
And though the news was rather sad
Well I just had to laugh.
    I saw the photograph.
  • I read the news today, oh boy,
four thousand holes in Blackburn, Lancashire.
And though the holes were rather small,
They had to count them all.
Now they know how many holes it takes to fill the Albert Hall.
I'd love to turn you on.
    • A Day in the Life

    Sees the sun going down.
And the eyes in his head
    See the world spinning 'round.

    Corporation tee-shirt, stupid bloody Tuesday.

I am the eggman, they are the eggmen.
I am the walrus, goo goo g'joob.

    Back in the U.S.S.R..

You know the place where nothing is real.

    Looking through a glass onion.

  • Happiness is a warm gun.

    Well, you know,
We all want to change the world.

But when you talk about destruction,

Let It Be (1970)[edit]

  • Words are flowing out like endless rain into a paper cup,

    Possessing and caressing me.

Speaking words of wisdom, let it be.

    Living in the world agree,

Quotes about The Beatles[edit]

The Beatles were so big that it’s hard for people not alive at the time to realize just how big they were. There isn’t a real comparison with anyone now. I suppose Michael Jackson at one point, but it still doesn’t seem quite the same. They were so big that to be competitive with them was impossible. I’m talking about in record sales and tours and all this. They were huge. They were bigger than Jesus! ~ Mick Jagger
  • I say in speeches that a plausible mission of artists is to make people appreciate being alive at least a little bit. I am then asked if I know of any artists who pulled that off. I reply, "The Beatles did."
