Your speedy deletion of Crimes against humanity, The Crimes Against Humanity Initiative, & War crimes, Saving face,[edit]

  • Hi Ningauble - Question about your comment (apparent justification) that you used this morning for deleting those four topics, less than half an hour after they were initially posted, was "No quotes: the only contributor was "Om777..." FYI, I had planned on coming back with supportive, qualified quotes in good time, and had posted those topics in good faith, with all due respect for law & order of both WQ & the world we all live in. If new wiki quote pages are posted on those topics in the future, WITH quotes from appropriate sources, will you promptly destroy them like you did these, or will they be given a fair chance to serve the greater good?
  • Relevant log entries:
  1. (Deletion log); 16:37 . . Ningauble (talk | contribs) deleted page Crimes against humanity ‎(Speedy deletion: No quotes: the only contributor was "Om777om" (talk))
  2. (Deletion log); 16:29 . . Ningauble (talk | contribs) deleted page Saving face ‎(Speedy deletion: No quotes: the only contributor was "Om777om" (talk))
  3. (Deletion log); 16:29 . . Ningauble (talk | contribs) deleted page The Crimes Against Humanity Initiative ‎(Speedy deletion: No quotes: the only contributor was "Om777om" (talk))
  4. (Deletion log); 16:29 . . Ningauble (talk | contribs) deleted page War crimes ‎(Speedy deletion: No quotes: Wikiquote is not a dictionary, and the only contributor was "Om777om" (talk))
The reason given is not merely an apparent justification, "no quotes" is the true, actual, necessary, and sufficient reason for deleting these pages. Articles with "ZERO QUOTES", as you put it, will be deleted. That is all. See WQ:WQ and WQ:NOT for further information.

The time to post a Wikiquote article is when you have a quote to post. ~ Ningauble (talk) 18:24, 4 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

  • Sorry but i did not know that. So if i start pages on those topics, with appropriate quotations, you won't delete them?
  • Also, sorry you feel that i accused you of anything. If you're serious about that, then it is clearly a misunderstanding. I started four stubs this morning that i thought would become helpful pages & you made them disappear in less than half an hour, after they were posted. I only stated facts, and made no accusations. You did make those pages disappear without a trace in a very short time. That seemed quite bizarre to me. Thank you for educating & tolerating me. Om777om (talk) 19:04, 4 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Disruptive IPs afoot...[edit]

A bunch of IP addresses constantly bully admins such as Kalki, UDScott, and Tegel, and vandalize the Administrators' noticeboard‎ without explanation or remorse. No matter how many we block, another IP with the same MO continues where it left off. I request permanent protection of all pages they vandalized, including all talk pages. But something has to be done to stop that vandal permanently. WikiLubber (talk) 12:45, 12 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I created a Wiki Quote page with 4 quotes and sourced to http://nystateassembly.granicus.com/MediaPlayer.php?view_id=7&clip_id=4698 an official New York State government website for the New York State Legislature. Nicole starts speaking at the 38 minute 15 second mark. I thought I followed all WikiQuote guidelines and included the code for

with 2 sentence biography about Nicole. What do I need to do or correct so the page can be live?

Ningauble, any update or what format I need to use to properly source the quote beyond linking to the direct source? I'm happy to make the edit to comply with sourcing Wikiquote guidelines.

How removed this Nicole Hunter redirect page's protection?[edit]

Please, to you removed protection this page. I want to editing... (talk) 06:29, 21 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Userpage deletion[edit]

Hi,

You recently deleted a userpage of mine (User:Gazamp/Derek Thomas). I had some links there I was going to try to turn into a page, not having realised that it's discouraged to only have external links on a userpage here. Is there any way to retrieve the links?

Best wishes, Gazamp (talk) 16:58, 9 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Another IP vandal...[edit]

IP user 98.214.101.235 is constantly adding categories that are absolutely wrong to certain series.

Examples:
It refers to Alvin and the Chipmunks (1983 TV series) as a Cartoon Network show, but that series was cancelled BEFORE Cartoon Network even existed!
It refers to certain anime series as American TV shows, but none of them are!
It refers to some anime series as cancelled shows, but virtually none of them are!

I request that this user be blocked indefinitely and that all of its edits be undone. There are so many, I cannot do it alone. WikiLubber (talk) 15:08, 20 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Is any part of this quote about either: jokes, the military, Erwin Rommel or Bernard Montgomery?[edit]

  • Personally, I think that the best way to wrongfoot Rommel would be to tell him he was fighting Spike Milligan and Harry Secombe. According to Milligan, the sight of Secombe, spectacles akimbo, crying shrilly "We're with you, sir!" put Monty off his stroke completely. God knows what it would have done to the enemy. The military mind is not geared to jokes.

I would not consider this quote to be an acceptable addition to a future page for taunting, nor would I consider it appropriate to add to a page for either Fighting words or Trash-talk, which implies coarse language and threats are involved. Perhaps there are additional reasons why this quote is not particularly pithy/notable/quotable/enduring/etc. which you could elaborate on as to educate me and any of our page watchers on; that, or perhaps the editor who reverted it did so do to a personal bias against comedy and or the armed forces, in which case I foresee future problems arising that could be considered discriminatory. Your comments regarding this matter would be appreciated. CensoredScribe (talk) 22:39, 30 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

My first reaction – Am I supposed to guess what page it was reverted from? I am not going to. My second reaction – What does any of this have to do with me? Nothing that I am aware of. My third reaction – Why are you trolling me like this? Hmm? ~ Ningauble (talk) 23:08, 30 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
1: You make a good point, expecting you to guess which of four pages was reverted is a waste of your time and a failure of communication on my part, the page in question is comedy. 2: What does any page that people ask for your assistance on as an administrator really "have to do" with you? 3: Define trolling, than add a page for it. 4: I've gathered you've no interest in talking to me, for whatever reason you've chosen not to communicate, and as thus I will never bother you on your talk page ever again unless you specifically ask me to do so, sir. Good day, sir. CensoredScribe (talk) 23:28, 30 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Interesting domain addition[edit]

m:User:COIBot/XWiki/owlquote.com indicates that there is some sort of fishy editing and link occurring. Might worth considering a domain blacklisting. sDrewth 03:22, 16 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I am not sure what you mean. I already added the domain to Wikiquote's spam blacklist. Is there something else I am missing or did I do it wrong? ~ Ningauble (talk) 12:49, 16 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Ok. Glad you were watching for this kind of trouble even though it was already resolved. It would have been very easy for people to miss it here. ~ Ningauble (talk) 12:40, 17 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

The article is still standing two months after the deletion discussion ended. Bringing this up because an [SPA account (probably Sekimonyo himself, he's been caught and blocked for creating similar vanity pages on English Wikipedia) has removed the the Deletion discussion tag several times and moved the page name unilaterally to Jo Moseli Sekimonyo in order to avoid deletion. I was wondering if, as an admin, you'd be able to delete the article. Best, GPL93 (talk) 17:11, 31 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Currently, one of your edits to the page Amitabh Bachchan shows the wrong size diff number because rev_parent_id is wrong.

The linked proposal on Meta will fix rev_parent_id for the above edit to make the size diff number correct.

Hinduism Vs Sikhism - Harassment by Admin GreenMeansGo[edit]

I got your message and left the VFD tag but why has it been put on my page?

Also what is there to be reviewed? I have information on the page that is true to the core. The only reason GreenMeansGo is harassing by deleting the content of my page which I have to revert back and then he added VFD tag on it unnecessarily. Hinduism and Sikhism is page written by GreenMeansGo and he doesn't like that I have an alternate page Hinduism Vs Sikhism and he is not enabling my page to be promoted for the viewers to seek truth.

His page has all incorrect information and quotes by Fanatics and that is ok for you?

GreenMeansGo is abusing the admin rights power for his own means. And admins like him need to be revoked of such priviledges. —This unsigned comment is by WorldWikiAuthorOriginal (talkcontribs) 16:44, 24 November 2019.

@WorldWikiAuthorOriginal: The reason your changes were reverted was because they were grossly incompatible with the style and formatting of Wikiquote. I'm more than happy to try to help you conform to the normal standard of style and formatting, and you can feel free to ask any questions you have on my talk page or at the village pump. The reason the article in question was nominated for deletion was because it is a duplicate of an existing article. If you disagree with the nomination, then you should leave a comment at the deletion discussion. I have not previously edit the page for Hinduism and Sikhism, I am neither a Hindu nor a Sikh, and have no strong personal opinion on the matter. GMGtalk 17:02, 24 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]
@GreenMeansGo - N0 thanks for your double standards. So no need to give any justification. Now you have to blame my page on style and formatting. Can you decide what reason you would like to go with? My page is not a duplicate of Hinduism and Sikhism. My page clearly states Hinduism VS Sikhism which shows the difference between two religions. There is no duplicity. Page HInduism and Sikhism is grossly inaccurate. So if you need to add VFD, then add it to page like Hinduism and Sikhism and not mine. My request earlier and below is to NIngauble so please let him/her respond. And yes I know what your religious preference is so no need to lie. Just do your job right as an admin instead of using such privileges to your own advantage based on religious and personal preference. —This unsigned comment is by WorldWikiAuthorOriginal (talkcontribs) 18:56, 24 November 2019‎ .
First WorldWikiAuthorOriginal, before anything else, you need to understand that civility is required at Wikiquote. If you continue to make personal attacks against GreenMeansGo or anyone else, making accusations of lying or any other disparaging remarks, then you will be blocked from editing Wikiquote. ~ Ningauble (talk) 19:08, 24 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Hinduism Vs Sikhism - Harassment by Admin GreenMeansGo 2[edit]

@Ningauble - I am maintaining civility here and have not accused anyone else of lying except for GreenMeansGo. I do not have any issues with any admins or viewers in wikiquote. I believe there are Admins like you and others who are much more capable to know the difference between wrong and right and perform your job accordingly. My issues is with the unnecessary VFD tag but its fine. If you all vote for deletion, there is nothing in my hands either way. After that if you prefer, then rather delete my account as well. Thanks for responding though.

Removed Essay[edit]

I have removed essay from my Hinduism Vs Sikhism page and only added quotes. Please take a look at it when you get time and let me know if it still needs to be considered for VFD. Thanks.
