Árni M. Mathiesen (born 2 October 1958) is Icelandic former politician. He was the Minister of Finance during the 2008 Icelandic financial crash.

- Said in a speech during an parliament session on 17 March 2007 as an answer to opposing parliamentarians who were pointing out that analytical departmentents of large foreign banks were indicating that the country was headed for a financial crisis. The following year the Icelandic banking system collapsed.
