Al Hurricane born Alberto Nelson Sanchez (July 10, 1936 – October 22, 2017) was an American singer-songwriter, dubbed "The Godfather" of New Mexico music.

[edit]- My mom picked the name "Al Hurricane", because I used to knock things over as a kid and it stuck to me. So I took it as my professional name.
- (in Old Town Albuquerque) This is where I grew up, I used to go to church here, and come here and perform. Wow, look at this! This is -- this is where i used to play. I should have brought my guitar, it brings back memories.
