Dialogue

[edit]
[The Toa Metru are walking through Metru Nui, which is now in ruins and covered with webs.]
Matau: What's with all the webs? [looking around] Not exactly encouraging my Toa-hero spirit...
[Upon hearing a noise, Vakama motions his team to stop. Matau tries to speak as a Kikanalo stampede runs by. Suddenly, a flying Rahi hovers above them.]
Nokama: What was that?
[A mutated Kraata is then seen crawling past.]
Matau: Well, there goes the ol' neighbourhood.
Whenua: The Archive must've been breached.
Onewa: What'd you have in there?
Whenua: Everything... most of it dangerous.
Vakama: Rahi?
Whenua: The Onu-Metru Archives houses a specimen of every Rahi beast ever discovered. At least, it used to.
Vakama: And the webs?
Whenua: Visorak. [groans] Nasty creatures...
Onewa: Coming from you, [chuckles nervously] that's not good.
Nokama: But what does it change?
Vakama: Nothing! We go to the Coliseum, we rescue the Matoran, we leave.
Whenua: [sighs] Or get pulverized.
Nuju: It is a possiblity.
Vakama: We faced the Makuta and won. [scoffs] I really doubt a few crusty relics are gonna give us much trouble. Agreed?
[The other Toa mutter in agreement.]
Nokama: If you think we should...
Vakama: Follow me!
[As soon as Vakama turns around, however, he is struck by a Rhotuka.]
Matau: [shocked] What the?!
[Eventually, the other Toa are also struck one by one by a Rhotuka, immobilizing them.]
Vakama: [struggling] Can't... move!
Whenua: Can't... stop! [collapses, followed by Vakama and Nokama]
Matau: This is gonna hurt. [collapses, followed by Nuju and Onewa]
Vakama: Is everyone okay?!
Matau: Yeah, we're right behind you, fearless leader. Literally.
Nokama: Bickering won't get us out of this, Matau.
Matau: No, but think-talking before charging straight into a trap might have.
Vakama: If you have something to say, Matau, say it.
Matau: Forget it!
(Suddenly, a noise is heard off-screen.)
Onewa: [gasps] What's that?!
(Silence.)
Nuju: We'll soon find out.
(Inside the fog, a Visorak screeches.)
Matau: [laughs nervously] Let me guess: Visorak?
Whenua: Yeah. Or in their tongue: [the Visorak surround them] "the stealers of life".
Onewa: Do they even have tongues? All I see are teeth.
(A Keelerak starts drooling Hordika Venom.)
Nokama: Vakama, what do we do?
(No answer.)

[Above the Coliseum, the Toa are trapped in cocoons, a Boggarak and Roporak are fighting each-other; the latter throws the former off the web, much to the delight of the other Visorak.]
Whenua: [wearily] That's encouraging...
Matau: [annoyed] Well, fire-spitter, we can't say you didn't show us the city. 'Course, we can say that you got us captured, poisoned, and seeing as I don't think we've been brought up here for the view… imminently smash-dashed!
[Vakama flinches. Onewa tries to speak, but is muffled by the webbing covering his mouth.]
Matau: [about Onewa] He agrees!
Nokama: [desperately] This is not Vakama's fault!
[Matau grunts in defiance and rolls his eyes.]
Vakama: [sighs] I tried to lead you as best I could... [turns his cocoon towards the others] I wish I was better at it. But if I've learned one thing from all we've been through: I am what I am. And no matter how much I might want to... I can't just change!
[Suddenly, Vakama starts mutating until his Blazer Claw bursts out of his cocoon, swinging it uncontrollably and burning the webbing from Onewa's mouth, who screams in pain, much to the horror of his team-mates.]
Nuju: Watch it!
[Soon after, Vakama looks on in shock as his teammates also start mutating as their cocoons glow green, revealing their mutated proportions as they burst out. Toa Whenua, Nuju, Onewa, Vakama, and Matau then burst out of their cocoons and start plummeting down as the Visorak chitter in delight. Vakama struggles to hold on to the thread around his foot.]
Vakama: Nokama! Help! [starts glowing in a green light]
Nokama: [worried] Vakama!
[Vakama struggles to look at Nokama as he keeps mutating.]
Vakama: [guilty] I'm sorry I let you all down... again.
[Nokama gasps in horror as the thread holding Vakama snaps off and the latter falls to his demise. Nokama later bursts out of her cocoon, screaming as she plummets down. At the Coliseum, Sidorak chuckles evilly.]

[On top of the Coliseum, Vakama is gazing at Ta-Metru from a distance.]
Vakama: [to himself] When I was Matoran, Ta-Metru was my whole world. It meant everything to me. It still does. [sadly looks away]
Roodaka: It can be your home again, Vakama, to rule as you see fit. All you need to do is lead those who will obey you properly. [whispering] Lead the Visorak horde.
[Upon hearing Roodaka's whisper, Vakama pauses, unsure what to consider.]
Vakama: [hesitant] I... [climbs off the thread] I don't know.
Roodaka: I understand your reluctance. You require proof. [to the Boggarak] Throw yourselves off the edge!
[Following Roodaka's orders, the Boggarak rush and leap off the Coliseum, much to Vakama's horror.]
Roodaka: Obedience. This is but the first of many lessons I can teach you.
Vakama: And this is something your king would allow?
Roodaka: [approaches him] There is a way. Six ways.
Vakama: [as his eyes turn green] I'm listening.

Sidorak: Still that sound. [sees Keetongu climbing the tower; shocked] What is that?!
Vakama: I guess it's Keetongu.
Sidorak: But Keetongu doesn't exist!
Vakama: Obviously, you're wrong about that. [starts walking away] I'll take care of him!
Roodaka: [stops him] No, Vakama, it is not your place; [looks at Sidorak] It is that of a king.
Sidorak: [tries to look confident] If Keetongu wasn't a myth before, he soon will be.

Sidorak: [over a stunned Keetongu] The honor is yours, my queen.
Roodaka: [turns her back on him] You do it.
Sidorak: But I can't overcome him all by myself!
Roodaka: I know.
Sidorak: Roodaka? [Keetongu strikes him; Sidorak dies]

[Vakama stomps on Matau's hand, who screams in pain.]
Vakama: You...are...weak, brother.
Matau: [struggles] You're right, Vakama; I am weak.
Vakama: So... at the end you see the truth.
Matau: We all make mistakes, Vakama. That's what happens when you're brave enough to make decisions. I understand that now.
Vakama: I don't believe that, coming from you! [angrily ignites his Blazer Claw]
Matau: Wait!
Vakama: [prepares to attack Matau] Not for long...
Matau: I'm sorry... for doubting you. Our strength comes from unity, Vakama, which means... you can't be strong without us.
Vakama: [bitterly] I'm better; and stronger; alone!
Matau: I don't believe that, and I don't think you do, either! You're our leader, Vakama! You're my leader. We've got a job to do; a-a duty!
[Upon hearing what Matau said, Vakama's eyes turn back to normal.]
Vakama: [whispering] The Matoran...
Matau: Rescuing them is our destiny! [Vakama steps off his foot and extinguishes his Blazer Claw] It's your destiny, and if there's any of the Vakama I know left, he'll know what to do next... [starts losing grip of the Coliseum]
Vakama: Matau, don't!
[Matau releases himself off the Coliseum's ledge. Vakama leaps after him and pulls both to safety.]
