Cold Case (2003–2010) is an American CBS police procedural television series. The series revolves around a fictionalized Philadelphia Police Department division that specializes in investigating cold cases.

The Crossing [7.1]

Stillman: Telegram sent from the ship to Darcy's boyfriend in Fishtown, Henry Speck: "I can't."

Scotty: Oh, we're going to do a whole lot more than that if you don't drop the immediate jackass bit and start answering our questions!

Chelsea: I don't have to talk to you.

Rush: No you don't, it's just your kid who's dead. And yet you keep jerking us around. Keep it up, I'll have the DA pile on conspiracy and extend your stay.

Chelsea: Not like I got anything waiting for me out there.

Rush: There's always vodka. My mom liked hers straight. You know, in one of those plastic bottles... that don't break when you pass out.

Jurisprudence [7.3]

Scotty: I got your back, Michael.

Michael: You said the same thing to Alex... and look what happened to him.

Jeffries: Haven't seen one of these for 30 years.

Jeffries: Philly soul was the next step from Motown. Takes me back man, cruising in the drop-top, Billy Paul on the A-track.

Vera: Never heard of him.

Jeffries: Come on man. How about The Intruders? Delfonics?

Vera: Nope.

Jeffries: Alright, you've gotta at least know Love Train.

Vera: Yeah, song from the beer commercial.

WASP [7.5]

Jeffries: One pilot with the call sign Wolf. Herbert James.

Rush: Herbert? No wonder he preferred Wolf.

[Angry Moe Kitchener has made bail, Lilly Rush has been using her connections with city police to harass him. Moe knows Lilly is behind it, and pulls his car up right beside hers one evening.]

Moe: Big date tonight?

Rush: I was just heading out to mess with you some more.

[Lilly places her pistol in her right hand; she makes sure Moe sees it.]

Rush: You wanna back up your car now?

Moe: Your car dry up or they get you a new one?

Rush: I said back away.

Moe: You gonna shoot me, Detective? Now, how do you think that'll look after I've filed a complaint? The more you push, the less I have to lose.

Dead Heat [7.6]

Jeffries: Sonny was a rock star. Women, money, cars. He got mixed up in any trouble, PPD gave him a pass just like Iverson and Barkley.

Vera: Come on! Jockeys? Those knee knockers get the ladies?

Rush: Hmm, still a man on a horse. Confident, athlete... Winning combo.

Jeffries: I'm saying this town loves a winner.

Vera: Somebody shoot me.

Stillman: Putting bangers back on the street your idea of cleaning up Chinatown?

Keith: I don't want to waste your time or anything, but suicide's a big legacy to leave behind. There was something else...

Rush: Now we need to set the record straight.

The Good Soldier [7.11]

SSG Mike Donley: It doesn't matter where you've been. It only matters where you go.

Rush: It's been four years, Bobby. What took you so long to come forward?

SPC Bobby Kerns: Special Forces. Went from training at Fort Bragg to two tours in Afghanistan. Just got home.

Rush: A bus ticket doesn't prove he was with you.

SPC Bobby Kerns: Ma'am, Army thinks one of its top soldiers is a criminal. You gotta make it right. Staff Sergeant Donley changed my life; the least I can do is honor his.

[In a flashback scene told by Jerry Harkin, Kevin's father, SSG Donley arrives at Kevin's funeral to offer his condolences. Jerry follows Donley, angry and meaning to confront him, but finds Donley speaking quietly with Kevin's younger brother, Ethan.]

SSG Mike Donley: Ethan, right? Man, your brother talked a lot about you. I'm sure that everybody's telling you you gotta be strong for your pop, and you got big shoes to fill. But none of that answers any of your questions, right? About why all this had to happen? I wish I could tell you; I can't. No one can. But if you ever get sad about your brother, I want you to remember this.

[The flashback ends abruptly; Jerry Harkin is trying to compose himself.]

Jerry: Sorry.

Rush: Take your time.

Jerry: He, um... he told my son Ethan that... he shouldn't feel sad about never seeing Kevin again. Because, every time he saw a soldier on TV, in the news, on the street- anywhere- that... he was seeing a piece of Kevin. That Kevin was now... a part of something bigger. Now, I might not have agreed with Mike that much but... what he said stays with me today. It's how I get by.

The Runaway Bunny [7.12]

Lana: Know the difference between a mosquito and a lawyer?

Vera: One's a blood-sucking parasite, the other's an insect.

Bear: 20-some-years ago? Where were you?

Rush: Not my gun that killed a guy.

Flashover [7.17]

Stillman: Is there anything else I need to get in front of here?

Miller: Nick's in bad shape, boss.

Stillman: Something I don't know, Kat.

Rush: I won't tell the last homicidal maniac that you flipped on that it was you who gave him up.

Squirrel: What kind of cops are you?

Valens: The kind that don't care about you!

The Last Drive-In [7.18]

Valens: Just came to see how you were doing.

Vera: Well, five hours a day I get to talk about my feelings. Can't sleep 'cause my roommate's up every five minutes washing the germs off his hands, and lecturing me about palm oils in my diet. Highlight of the day is, uh, taking on my fellow defectives in ping-pong, but other than that things are looking up.

Valens: How's the Jell-O?

Vera: Not bad. Mac and cheese sucks.

Bullet [7.19]

Yates: Cavanaugh, change of plans. Rush and I have field command with your oversight.

Ryan: According to who?

Yates: Well you, actually. Just got off the phone with the SSC, let them know your plans to pursue the case and he signed off.

Ryan: Even you don't have the balls, Yates.

Yates: Well, call himself, Ryan, if you don't believe me. Course, you're going to have to explain how I went off the reservation for a week, opened this case solo, while you sat in your corner office clueless. [Ryan closes the phone] Don't pout, Ryan, it causes frown lines.

Free Love [7.20]

Cavanaugh: Come on, it's Friday, I'll have you back by Monday. We'll get you a car, US Marshall will deputize you, and you get to hang out with me a little more.

Rush: But I don't really like you.

Valens': I thought you to had a thing going?

Kat: Had. Moving on.

Valens: He's a decent guy, good job, chemistry... Can see why you'd want to throw that away.

Kat: He's all yours.

Almost Paradise [7.21]

Vera: I don't remember dressing this badly in high school...

Jeffries: You mean... compared to now?

Vera: Well, how'd you guys do it back in the day, Will? What, did Moses just hold a candle while you guys danced?

Shattered [7.22]

Rush: [looking for her missing sister] She's got this deranged boyfriend after her. She really knows how to pick 'em.

Valens: Easy.

Rush: I don't know why I should care anymore.

Valens: Still blood. Still hurts.

Rush: Look, I'm sorry I... dragged you into this mess.

Valens: Nah. I should have told you before.

Rush: I mean, I feel like I'm still responsible for her. But I don't know how to keep doing this.

Valens: She went through what you did, too.

Rush: Well, you would think it would have brought us closer, but I barely remember a time when we got along. When we were just sisters.
