Quotes[edit]

  • (Ma) bene a forza il caro e dolce riso
    Scoprir il Paradiso
    E far lieta fortuna d’atra e dura.
    • Translation: Yet will the loved one’s gentle smile suffice
To ope the door of Paradise,
And turn to joy our dark and cruel lot.
    • Canzone IV. Translation reported in Harbottle's Dictionary of quotations French and Italian (1904), p. 256.
