Gavin Alexander Williamson (born 25 June 1976) is a British Conservative politician who has been the Secretary of State for Education under the Johnson ministry and was previously the Secretary of State for Defence from 2017 to May 2019. He was dismissed on 1 May 2019 after a leak from the National Security Council; Williamson has denied leaking the information. He has been the MP for South Staffordshire since 2010.
