Genesis are an English rock band formed at Charterhouse School, Godalming, Surrey in 1967. The most commercially successful and longest-lasting line-up consists of keyboardist Tony Banks, bassist/guitarist Mike Rutherford, and drummer/singer Phil Collins. Other former members were original lead singer Peter Gabriel, and guitarists Anthony Phillips and Steve Hackett. The band moved from folk music to progressive rock in the 1970s, before moving towards pop at the end of the decade.

Song lyrics[edit]

Invisible Touch (1986)[edit]

  • This is the world we live in,
And these are the hands we're given.
  • Oh Superman, where are you now?
    • "Land of Confusion"

We Can't Dance (1991)[edit]

  • I can't dance.
    I can't talk.
Only thing about me is the way that I walk.

    I can't dance.
    I can't sing.
I'm just standing here selling everything.
