Islam is a minority religion in Myanmar, practiced by about 4.3% of the population, according to the 2014 Myanmar official statistics.

- We have seen that in Burmah the Hindu settlers have a tendency to become absorbed in the Buddhist population arround them, but this is not so with the Muhammadans. There are scattered communities of Muhammadans who have been settled in Burmah for several generations and still retain their faith unimpaired.
