Quotes

[edit]
  • Religion is more than a set of individual experiences, important as they are. It is also a set of shared beliefs that make it possible for large numbers of people to work together, to endure the restraints and meet the demands imposed by organized society, to be willing to play a part in an intricate process that no one can fully understand, to find satisfaction in life without being flooded by material benefits.[1]

Quotes about Joseph Strayer

  • Strayer always claimed that medieval historians made terrific CIA operatives because they were especially good at drawing conclusions based on very fragmentary evidence.
