Friederike Victoria "Joy" Adamson (20 January 1910 – 3 January 1980) was a naturalist, artist and author. Her book, Born Free, which chronicles her experiences raising a lion cub named Elsa, has been translated into multiple languages and adapted into an Academy Award-winning film of the same name.
