Left Behind: World at War is a 2005 American apocalyptic Christian thriller film and the third in the series of films based on the Left Behind book series. It was directed by Craig R. Baxley and produced by Cloud Ten Pictures.
Dialogue[edit]
- [Buck, head covered, is being interrogated by the President]
- President Fitzguh: Who do you work for?
- Buck Williams: My guess is you already know that.
- President Fitzguh: Indulge me.
- Buck Williams: Global Community Weekly.
- President Fitzguh: Who do you answer to?
- Buck Williams: Nicolae Carpathia.
- [Slams a Bible on the table]
- President Fitzguh: That's a Bible. Your Bible, Mr. Williams. You know how the GC frowns on hate literature?
- Buck Williams: I've been doing research.
- President Fitzguh: I'm sure you have.
- [The President cocks his handgun]
- President Fitzguh: You got two options: option number one, you give me all the right answers to my questions, I'll think about not putting a bullet into your head. Option two-
- Buck Williams: Option one is fine.
- President Fitzguh: Are you one of them? Christians?
- Buck Williams: ...I haven't done anything-
- President Fitzguh: I will decide that myself! Now, do you renounce the name of Jesus Christ? Yes, or no?
- Buck Williams: [Pause] No. No I don't.
- [After a small pause, the President puts his gun down, and has his guard remove Buck's head cover.]
- President Fitzguh: Somehow, I don't think Nicolae would've been very thrilled with that answer.
- President Fitzguh: What about the militia?
- Buck Williams: They have their own reasons for going after Nicolae. Has nothing to do with us.
- President Fitzguh: Except you both hate Nicolae.
- Buck Williams: We know who he is. The Bible refers to him as the the beast of Revelation. He's the antichrist.
- President Fitzguh: So, do you want him dead?
- Buck Williams: He's the antichrist. You can't kill him.
- Nicolae Carpathia: Gerald. How'd you get in here?
- President Fitzguh: I came in the front door.
- Nicolae Carpathia: You seem to have changed. I told you I see things. Not having a very good day, are you, Mr. President?
- President Fitzguh: Well, actually, I'm having a great day. I resigned from the militia...and I joined your real enemy. Do you remember Carolyn Miller?
- Nicolae Carpathia: A lovely little thing, wasn't she?
- President Fitzguh: But she seemed to think that the only way to defeat you was with weapons, with the militia, when the answer was right there in front of us: Jesus Christ. The only way to beat you in this life, or the next, is to accept him.
- Nicolae Carpathia: [Infuriated] The last thing you will ever see is my power over his.
- President Fitzguh: Sometimes, he doesn't let you see at all.
- [A missile destroys GC Headquarters. The President is killed, but Nicolae supernaturally survives without a scratch.]
