Li Ching-Yuen

Li Ching-Yuen (died 6 May, 1933) was a Chinese herbalist and martial artist known for his supposed extreme longevity. Yuen consumed a variety of herbs, such as lingzhi, goji berry, wild ginseng. he shou wu and gotu kola which he claimed helped him reach extreme longevity. He made a diet off of these herbs along with Rice wine. By age thirteen, he had embarked upon a life of gathering herbs in the mountains with three elders, when seventy-eight, he retired from his military career. Yuen died of natural causes in Kai County, China in 1933.
