Louis Portella Mbuyu (28 July 1942–) is a Congolese prelate of the Roman Catholic Church who served as the bishop of the Diocese of Kinkala and as the president of the Episcopal Conference of the Congo.

[edit]- We need to educate future cadres who will be in decision making positions. Besides this we are also determined to support the family, the first place of education. We must build a family capable of helping children to grow humanly, spiritually and morally.
- What emerges is the urgent need to help and stimulate the faithful of Christ in the Congo to read the Word of God, to meditate on it, to pray it inasmuch as it can "recreate" African man who still carries within the consequences of the past. This requires easier access to the Biblical text by means of translations. This is one of the pastoral emergencies of our Church.

- Africa has been through deep wounds which have marked her history heavily. However, there is a need for a healing of the memory. Therefore one must commit oneself firmly in a dynamic of hope and resurrection.
- It is not enough to proclaim the word of God without putting it into practice in every Christian's daily life. The word of God has to be lived in every person's daily activities and in communion with other people.
