"Naughty but Mice" is a 1947 American traditional animated short film part of the Noveltoons series directed by Seymour Kneitel, written by Bill Turner and Larry Riley, and produced by Famous Studios. It was produced in Technicolor and released to theatres by Paramount Pictures on October 10, 1947. This stars Herman the Mouse.

Dialogue

Herman: Hey guys, where's Hiram, Zeke, and Louie?

Mouse: It's that new cat in the barn, Herman. He's a killer.

[The scene cuts to a picture of a cat with the caption "Champion Mouse Catcher" on the newspaper snippet while Herman sees it, then he uses billiard chalk with his stick to draw a cat holding a flower on the coffin.]

Herman: Oh yeah? Well just leave me to Cousin Herman.

[Herman brings a cat's tail outside the sack while walking to a well.]

Herman: ♪ Ding, dong, dell. Pussy's in a well. ♪

[The scene cuts to a cat inside the sack.]

♪ Who put her in? Little Herman grin. ♪

[A cat ejects a sharp claw from his pointing finger.]

♪ Who pulled her out? ♪ [A cat tears the sack out with a sharp claw.] ♪ Ha, ha, ha, ha! ♪

[The scene cuts to five stacked mice reaching to the shelf of three whole cheeses.]

♪ Ding, dong, dell. ♪

♪ Ding, dong, dell. ♪

Herman: [marches while bringing a rose] Well folks, all's well that ends in a well.

[But the ghost cats have been summoned after death, Herman alarms himself behind them.]

Ghost cats: [laughing]

[The scene cuts back to a cat's grave.]

Ghost cats: Oh, yeah? [fly toward Herman by hunting instead]

[The scene cuts to the ghost cats chasing Herman before the short ends, while he runs swiftly and drills behind them with a rose barely twice.]
