Resident Evil 3: Nemesis

Resident Evil 3: Nemesis (also known as Biohazard 3: Last Escape in Japan) is a survival horror game and the third game in the Resident Evil series. RE3 focuses on Jill Valentine as she attempts to escape from the zombie-infested Raccoon City while being pursued by a monster referred to as the "Nemesis".

• It all began as an ordinary day in September. An ordinary day in Raccoon City. A city controlled by Umbrella. No one dared to oppose them. And that lack of strength would ultimately lead to their destruction. I suppose they had to suffer the consequences for their actions, but there would be no forgiveness. If only they had had the courage to fight. It's true that once the wheels of justice begin to turn, nothing can stop them. Nothing. It was Raccoon City's last chance. And my last chance. My last escape.
• September 28th. Daylight... The monsters have overtaken the city. Somehow... I'm still alive...
• You want S.T.A.R.S.? I'll give you S.T.A.R.S.!

Dialogue

Jill Valentine: OK. We've got to get out of here.

Dario Rosso: What? What do you think you're talking about? I just lost my daughter out there! How dare you tell me to go back outside!

Jill Valentine: I'm sorry about your daughter, but there isn't going to be any rescue. We have to get out of here!

Dario Rosso: No! I'm not going anywhere! I'd rather starve to death in here than be eaten by one of those undead monsters! Now leave me alone! [Runs inside a storage container]

Jill Valentine: Brad, hang in there. Why isn't someone doing something about this?

Brad Vickers: I didn't know you were still alive, Jill. The police aren't trained for this kind of situation. What could they do? Listen, he's coming for us. We're both gonna die!

Jill Valentine: What are you saying?

Brad Vickers: You'll see. He's after S.T.A.R.S. members! There's no escape!

Brad Vickers: J... Jill!

Jill Valentine: Brad!

Brad Vickers: We've got a-

[The Nemesis drops down in front of him]

Brad Vickers: [Screams in fear]

Jill Valentine: [Gasps]

Brad Vickers: Jill! Help!

[The Nemesis grabs Brad Vickers]

Brad Vickers: NOOOO!

[The Nemesis impales Brad through the head with a tentacle]

Jill Valentine: No! [Gasps]

[The Nemesis throws Brad's corpse to the floor]

Jill Valentine: Brad...

Nemesis: STARS!

Jill Valentine: What's that?

Carlos Oliveira: Calm down, lady. I'm no zombie. My name's Carlos, corporal of Umbrella's Biohazard Countermeasure Force. What's your name?

Jill Valentine: Jill. Did you just say you belong to Umbrella's army?

Carlos Oliveira: Yeah. We came all the way out here to save you civilians. But the mission went bad the minute we landed.

[The Nemesis enters]

Jill Valentine: No way! How did he find me?

Jill Valentine: I need to ask you something. Why did Umbrella send your team here?

Carlos Oliveira: Our mission is to rescue the civilians.

Jill Valentine: How kind of you, considering Umbrella caused all this in the first place, those liars!

Carlos Oliveira: Look, we're just mercenaries, hired hands.

[A loud crash is heard]

Carlos Oliveira: No time for talking. If you can believe me, then join us. Think about it!

Carlos Oliveira: Nicholai? You're still alive?

Nicholai Zinoviev: You saw what happened.

Carlos Oliveira: What's going on?

Nicholai Zinoviev: I'm one of the supervisors. That's all you need to know. [Points his gun at Carlos]

Carlos Oliveira: Wait!

[Tyrell Patrick activates a hand grenade. Carlos and Nicholai both run but th grenade goes off. Carlos gets to safety but Nicholai falls out of the window]

Carlos Oliveira: Hey! Are you OK?

Jill Valentine: Yes. Barely. What's going on?

Carlos Oliveira: No way! That monster just doesn't give up!

Jill Valentine: What? I thought we killed that thing!

Carlos Oliveira: No. It's been waiting for you.

[Nemesis roars]

Jill Valentine: He's playing with us. Carlos, do you think that it's unstoppable?

Carlos Oliveira: No, I don't think so. I'm sorry, Jill, but I've gotta go take care of a few things. Oh, and bad news. Nicholai is still alive.

Jill Valentine: Nicholai? Are you sure?

Carlos Oliveira: Yes. I don't know how, but I do know that he is our enemy. Remember, don't trust him. [Runs out of the church]

Nicholai Zinoviev: I'm quite impressed you've managed to stay alive up until now.

Jill Valentine: And you seem to be doing a pretty good job of looking out for yourself. How about helping out?

Nicholai Zinoviev: I have no intention of helping you.

Jill Valentine: Because we're nothing but pawns in all this?

Nicholai Zinoviev: In a manner of speaking, you are. Our employers wanted a detailed analysis of the zombie beings which were created through infection by the T-Virus.

Jill Valentine: You're saying that they deliberately sent in a military unit to be butchered by their creations?

Nicholai Zinoviev: Not exactly. Although the conditions encountered on this operation were extreme, it was an unexpected outcome that the team would be wiped out. We were only required to collect live data from the subjects.

[The ground begins to shake]

Nicholai Zinoviev: Another mutant! [Runs out the room]
