Solomon's Temple
Appearance
Solomon's Temple, also known as the First Temple (Hebrew: בֵּית-הַמִּקְדָּשׁ הָרִאשׁוֹן, Bēṯ hamMīqdāš hāRīʾšōn), was a biblical Temple in Jerusalem believed to have existed between the 10th and 6th centuries BCE. It was destroyed during the Siege of Jerusalem in 589–587 BCE, but was later reconstructed as the Second Temple. Today, the Temple Mount is the holiest site in Judaism.
