Dialogue[edit]

Black Adam: [grabs a woman from her car] Is this who I was to protect? Why, because they are weak?
Captain Marvel: Put her down!
Black Adam: When you crush an ant beneath your foot, do feel remorse? No. Is this because you are evil or because you recognize yourself as a higher form of life? This is what the Wizard could not understand. If I have the powers of the gods, then I am not a god myself? Should I not be treated as such?
Captain Marvel: Put her down!
Black Adam: You want to be a protector? Then protect the soul. Revert to your mortal form and I will prove a benevolent deity.
Captain Marvel: And then you'll just kill me.
Black Adam: I will.
Captain Marvel: Shazam.
[turns into Billy]
Billy Batson: Now put her down.
Black Adam: See? Like an ant.
[Black Adam throws woman into the sky]
Billy Batson: No! Shaz...
Black Adam: [covers Billy's mouth] Your last breath wasted on the wrong word.

Superman: Easy there. You've got him.
Black Adam: It changes you, does it not? The power.
Captain Marvel: [holding Adam in an iron grip] It only changes that I can choose my own fate now.
Black Adam: Like a god, maybe.
Superman: That's enough!
Captain Marvel: No, I have to. To protect them.
Superman: How? By being like him?
Captain Marvel: By being stronger than him.
Superman: Then be strong... be good.
[Captain Marvel releases Black Adam]

Black Adam: This is not over, then. Only death will stop me.
Mister Tawky Tawny: You're forgetting option number two: banishment. I'll take it from here, captain.
Black Adam: Tawny.
Captain Marvel: You know the homeless guy?
Black Adam: Still the Wizard's lackey, I see.
Mister Tawky Tawny: [turns into a tiger] Lackey, kid's guardian angel, superhero talent scout. Guess I do a bit of everything. So I was thinking this time, the Wizard could send you so far across the universe it'll take you 10,000 years to get back.
Black Adam: No, not again!
Mister Tawky Tawny: Oh, you better believe it.
Black Adam: SHAZAM! [turns to dust]

Black Adam: [to Billy] I was not expecting a child. But you are marked by the Wizard's energy, chosen to one day inherit the mantle of power.
Billy Batson: I-I don't understand. What do you want from me?
Black Adam: Your life.

Black Adam: Indeed, you are my physical match. But I sense one critical difference: a vulnerability to magic. [hurls lightning at Superman]
Superman: [blasts Black Adam] Another difference: heat vision.

Black Adam: I did not spend 5,000 years traveling across the infinite void of space to be thwarted by some man-child.
Superman: Will a superman do, then?

Shazam: I was hoping this moment could wait until you were a bit older. Alas, the threat is upon us now, Billy Batson.
Billy Batson: You know my name?
Shazam: Oh, I know many things. For I am the Wizard, Shazam!
[at the sound of his name, lightning and thunder happens]
Billy Batson: Whoa!

Billy Batson: "Be good, and good will follow." That's what my parents always used to tell me. But you know, Mr Kent, I was good before they were taken from me, I was good at the foster home, and I was good about fifteen minutes ago! I'm starting to think being good isn't good for me...
Clark Kent: It seems that way sometimes, doesn't it? But that's why good is hard. Bad is always easy.

Shazam: Worry not. Black Adam cannot harm you here.
Billy Batson: Who's Black Adam?
Shazam: My gravest mistake, one for which today I will pay in penance! Millennia ago, I chose him to be this world's protector. He was entrusted with great powers, but his heart was corrupted by them. He fell victim the same seven deadly enemies of man that all must battle. I was forced to banish him to the farthest star in the sky. I spent the next 500 years making sure I would not repeat that error. I chose a new hero.
Billy Batson: Who?
Shazam: Why, you, of course. I've been watching your for sometime, Billy. And now this. Bestowed with the wisdom, strength, stamina, power, courage and speed of the gods you will become our new protector. You will become Captain Marvel.
Billy Batson: But I'm no protector.
Shazam: No protector, you say? And yet despite enduring countless tragedies and hardships, you've somehow managed to protect your perfect heart. You, Billy Batson, are all that stands in the way of Black Adam again unleashing tyranny upon us.
Billy Batson: I can't!
Shazam: You must.
