The most famous quotation from Clarke
[edit]Where is probably most famous quotation from Clarke? Y'now, David Bowman, when he begins... "trip". And this was NOT drug trip, mind you. --80.51.70.116 07:52, 29 June 2006 (UTC)
- I don't know what quote you're talking about. The fact that you did not (could not?) cite the whole quote yourself leads me to wonder how famous this quote could be. Can you give us more of a hint? Thanks. ~ Jeff Q (talk) 09:02, 29 June 2006 (UTC)
- I think he is probably referring to the line "My God, it's full of stars" which occurs in the book, but is not actually in the movie. It is referenced in the sequel 2010: The Year We Make Contact. ~ Kalki 12:07, 29 June 2006 (UTC)
- Reasonable misunderstanding, and commonly misattributed. Accordingly, added as "Misattributed" in 2081629.

Sub-section headings in the Dialogue section
[edit]I added sub-section headings to the 2001: A Space Odyssey (film)#Dialogue section, so I can link to particular sections from other wikis and e-mail, etc. --Teratornis 00:09, 27 March 2007 (UTC)
- I understand the purpose, but I'm not so sure about how this now looks. I've posted a discussion at Wikiquote:Village_pump#2001:_A_Space_Odyssey about this to gather some opinions. ~ UDScott 11:57, 27 March 2007 (UTC)
- If the section headings are not satisfactory, we could replace them with invisible

name anchors. Reference: w:Help:Link#Section linking (anchors). Visible headings are nice because it's easy to get a link from the page TOC, but I can live with looking at the page source to get the invisible name anchor. I'm not trying to rock any boats here, I'd just like to be able to link to specific bits of dialogue from elsewhere. --Teratornis 19:26, 27 March 2007 (UTC)- Here is a permanent link to the Village pump discussion through 15:23, 28 March 2007 (UTC). --Teratornis 16:21, 28 March 2007 (UTC)

Daniel Richter
[edit]I think there is a wrong link for Daniel Richter. The Movie was finished in 1968 and the Daniel Richter behind the link was born in 1962. But the actor in the movie was an adult person.--195.145.17.162 14:45, 8 May 2007 (UTC)
- I've changed the link to a new article, w:Daniel Richter (disambiguation), which gives a one-line description of three holders of that name, including both the German artist described in w:Daniel Richter and the actor/choreographer of 2001. Thanks for calling attention to this confusion. ~ Jeff Q (talk) 00:50, 9 May 2007 (UTC)
