The "fools" quote

[edit]

This site attributes the fools quote:

"People do not wish to appear foolish; to avoid the appearance of foolishness, they are willing to remain actually fools." --Alice Walker (All the Woman Are White, All the Blacks Are Men, But Some of Us are Brave by Hull, Scott & Smith)

Amazon says the book's title is But Some Of Us Are Brave : All the Women Are White, All the Blacks Are Men: Black Women's Studies, but I do not own the book and cannot verify the quote as sourced. --Fang Aili 16:44, 15 February 2006 (UTC)Reply

  • Life is better than death, I believe, if only because it is less boring, and because it has fresh peaches in it.
  • People do not wish to appear foolish; to avoid the appearance of foolishness, they are willing to remain actually fools.
  • No person is your friend who demands your silence, or denies your right to grow.
  • I try to teach my heart not to want things it can't have.
  • Don't wait around for other people to be happy for you. Any happiness you get you've got to make yourself.
  • Look closely at the present you are constructing: it should look like the future you are dreaming.
  • Activism is my rent for living on the planet.
