Add topicCleanup
[edit]I've just done a massive amount of cleanup on this article, but it still needs a good bit of attention, so I left the cleanup tag in place. Every one of these quotes could use a better source, even the one I placed in a "Sourced" section (which is only a fragment). Solomon's citing of an infamous remark and response is pathetically incomplete, but it was the best source I could find in a hurry. (Most online cites are from bloggers and forum posters, a thoroughly unreliable and untrustworthy source.) The "public policy" quote is sourced only by a RealAudio recording, which is rather unsatisfactory (and which I couldn't easily check). I ask editors of this article to help to full identify some reliable sources for these quotes. Thank you. ~ Jeff Q (talk) 18:10, 5 March 2008 (UTC)
Unsourced
[edit]Wikiquote no longer allows unsourced quotations, and they are in process of being removed from our pages (see Wikiquote:Limits on quotations); but if you can provide a reliable, precise and verifiable source for any quote on this list please move it to Barney Frank. --Antiquary 18:52, 24 August 2009 (UTC)

- What kind of social, cultural authoritarianism are we practicing here? I think [the bill] is a great infringement on liberty. When it comes to an individual decision on how to spend your own time and money, that's not my position. That's not my business. I am skeptical of people who want to protect people from themselves.
- We're told "don't take things personally", but I take this personally. I take it personally when people decide to take political batting practice with my life.
