This article falls within a proposed limits on quotations policy.

The subject of this article is a video game, and as a result, the proposal would set a limitation of three quotes.

If you would like to add another quote to the page, you should consider whether to remove one that is already there in order to keep within the bounds of fair use of copyright material.

Four Quotes Proposal

[edit]

I would like to use this page as an experimental example for my proposal of raising the LOQ on video games. Currently, the limit stands at 3. I propose that it be raised to 4, and point to this game's page as it currently stands as an example. Four quotes, an even number, gives a quotes page a more balanced look than any three. It is certainly not a drastic increase, and would take very little work to adjust VG quotes pages accordingly if the LOQ was raised to 4. The quote from early in the game by Jimmy Hopkins, the speech from late in the game by Gary Smith, and the two conversations between Gary and Jimmy tell a pretty decent story about what the game is about- it is certainly better done with four quotes than with three. General discussion of increasing the limit belongs at Wikiquote talk:Limits on quotations#‎Electronic games limit, and ought not be repeated here.

This article is not a very good candidate for expansion. Bear in mind that Wikiquote's purpose is not to tell a story about what the game is about, it is to collect brilliant and notable quotations. The dialog is this article is quite unexceptional, and none of these trite banalities will ever appear in a future edition of Bartlett's Familiar Quotations. I doubt we really need any of it, and we really do not need any more of it. ~ Ningauble (talk) 15:40, 11 April 2012 (UTC)Reply

I'm a gamer myself, so I understand the sentiments, at least, of the original poster. Ninguable makes a lot of valid points, though, especially about Wikiquote's purpose. Personally, I think this page is fine the way it is. The three quote pieces it has do a pretty good job of telling the game's story, and having played "Bully", I can say this is some of the game's best dialogue.
