This is the talk page for discussing improvements to the Call of Duty 4 page.

This article falls within a proposed limits on quotations policy.

The subject of this article is a video game, and as a result, the proposal would set a limitation of three quotes.

If you would like to add another quote to the page, you should consider whether to remove one that is already there in order to keep within the bounds of fair use of copyright material.

Far from complete[edit]

Just created this page, since there was nothing up. If anyone wants to fill in the blanks, please do. At this time I'm only taking screenshots of the in-game dialogue accompanied by subtitles, and typing those up. In one or two places I've added text said by the characters that wasn't present in the subtitles. A better method would be to fraps missions and then review them, or alt-tab out after any dialogue that doesn't match the subtitles (or isn't subtitled), using screenshots for the rest, but I'm using the time-efficient approach. My initial plan is to simply transcribe all of the dialogue, but a section for standalone character quotes could work (i.e "Yeah well not for long they're not" - Gaz). Actually, I think film quotes guideline of Wikiquote may be appropriate in this case, i.e.: each major character gets his own section where only his standalone quotes are put, then there is a single section for all the minor characters, and one for the dialogue. We might even get an extra sections just for the chapter titles since they are quotable, too. ^^ --Koveras 22:01, 11 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Mission titles[edit]

I think some of the mission titles are quite quotable, too. Maybe we should include them, too? Or is there a strict quote definition that won't allow this? --Koveras 17:21, 12 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Lieutenant[edit]

I'm getting sick of this. It may be pronounced 'Leftenant' but it is spelled 'Lieutenant'. Even if the spelling may informally vary in America, this Captain Price worked for the SAS. Which is British. So it's Lieutenant. Not that it wouldn't be if he was American. Ninington 20:38, 18 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

"Leftenant" is the very precise way it is spelled in the game itself. Using "Lieutenant" instead would be going against the source material. Oh, and here is a screenshot, btw. Do you want me to take screenshots of every other quote that uses this term? --Koveras 21:46, 18 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
