(Of course he might have said both at different times.) Anyway know more?

Of course, this doesn't guarantee that to be the correct quote wording or that Dana Gould ever said it, but it limits the timeframe. Checking "javascript:alert(document.lastModified" for that page gives 10/21/1994 14:00:00, so he has to be quoting from before October 21, 1994. If there's doubts of that date, there's another site from 10/31/1995 that is quoting Jamie quoting Dana, showing that this quote is old. To know further from there may require a review of all his works prior to that time, if it is even recorded somewhere.
