I fear this is not the right place for this, so please excuse me if it is not. But I always wondered, what does "depending on the breaks" (as said by Gen. Turgidson in the dialogue about the post war scenario) mean ? Is it an idiom or something like that ?

• The "breaks" are "the way things break" or "the way things go"... well, or not so well. A "break" is a random event, which may or may not be good, as in catching a good (or bad) break. Wahkeenah 00:00, 10 August 2006 (UTC)
