Pants quote[edit]
I came across a "pants in fear" quote attributed by some to JAG but did not include it because it did not appear in the reliable sources I found. According to https://www.snopes.com/politics/quotes/hispanicleaders.asp
- We haven’t been able to verify the last portion of Professor Gutiérrez’s statement, about white America “shitting in their pants with fear,” as it does not appear in the audio clip provided.
I do not yet know of any reliable sources for this:
- I love it. They are shitting in their pants with fear. I love it.
As Snopes pointed out, it is suspiciously absent from the audio recording which exists of the event (dug this up, Snopes had a dead link) which ends at "explosion is in our population".
I would be interested in knowing if we could track down who first made the claim that the "I love it" sentence followed immediately after this. Without an audio clip to confirm something this controversial, I would oppose claiming he definitely said that (indeed, the omission from the April 1969 HoR quote from Gonzalez seems to argue against its canonicity) but if this is being repeated by a lot of people over an extended period of time, we should perhaps listed is as an attributed-yet-unevidenced quote at the bottom, as we often do with some fake quotes.
