Cleanup[edit]

I have started adding the cleanup tag to articles which are about TV shows and do not follow the standard formatting -- an especially popular way to violate that is to follow movie-like formatting. I believe (and I may be wrong, in which case I will stop) there is consensus that the movie-like formatting is a bad idea for TV shows, especially with regards to its effects on verifiability and accuracy. Thanks ~ MosheZadka (Talk) 04:48, 16 November 2005 (UTC)

Moshe, you raise an interesting point. We should probably have some guidance on creating new TV show articles besides just the template. I suspect most people who do so don't already have a vast collection of episode-sorted quotes to add (like we both appear to have had). Many simply grab quotes from IMDb, I suspect, and IMDb quotes have absolutely no order to them nor episode tagging. For this article, I've moved all the existing quotes (editing into dialog format) to the "Unknown episode" section, added the season headers, and removed the cleanup tag. I've also added the complete list of episode headers, but commented them out because they would make a stub article especially ugly, with far too much structure for far too little content. I'm open to suggestions for alternatives. ~ Jeff Q (talk) 07:48, 16 November 2005 (UTC)
A new Cleanup tag was added in August 2007, i.e. almost two years after Jeffq's efforts. I'll see what needs to be done (and what I can do) to make this article adhere to current standards. Karin Spaink 16:50, 15 July 2008 (UTC)

Copyright[edit]

I have taken out the copyright warning (which had been attached since August 2007), after I did quite some pruning, esp. of some episodes from season 3. They were more transcripts than quotes. Now, the amount and the length of the quotes fall well within fair use. Apart from the copyright matter: quotes are supposed to deliver insight, entertainment or food for thought, and are not collected to narrate the story. Karin Spaink 19:27, 15 July 2008 (UTC)

You have the right idea, but the article still exceeds the limits on quotations so I am reinstating the {{checkcopyright}} tag. Note that the first season consisted of long format TV movies but subsequent seasons used a 1 hour serial format (45 minute runtime). ~ Ningauble 16:11, 13 August 2010 (UTC)
