Vampires?

[edit]

In the part about the "Not Allowed" signs, I'm pretty sure that Guido mentions visigoths, not vampires! Was the movie dumbed down for history-ignorant american audiences? (I'm not saying this is a fair notion - but the movie's distributor seems to think so!) 200.217.227.102 13:31, 11 February 2006 (UTC)Reply

It was indeed visigoths. At least, in the subtitled version. Dunno about the newer english dub.--71.98.25.209 19:34, 27 April 2006 (UTC)Reply

In the same quote, Guido said that he was with his CHINESE (cinese) friend, who had a kangaroo.

The article says quite confidently that if the final riddle has a solution, it is "a Jew." I doubt it. Dr. Lessing is a Nazi, but he is friendly to Guido and trying to help him. This would be no moment for anti-Semitism. I think the answer is "a fascist." What makes fascism not just heinous but also ridiculous is their version of the goose step. Guido calls attention to this even in his final moments. Italian geese make the same sound as Italian ducks--this is what throws Lessing off. Fascists are big (grosso) and nasty (brutto). Their marching is like a goose's walking--excremental. The yellow may only work in English (cowardly), but I'm not sure.
