Mad Max is a post-apocalyptic action thriller to a post-apocalyptic. Mad Max is one of the few big named film of a pre-apocalyptic action thriller. This is due to the film show a world of heavy decay, but barely functional fictional universe. This would end up providing a contrast to the rest of the Mad Max films due to each film show the progression of a fictional universe from one of a pre-apocalyptic to a post-apocalyptic fictional universe.
