• I sometimes have the impression that I have been born, between heaven and earth..the more I work the more I tried to align these paintings with a distant dream. [1]

Note: I have seen this quote attributed, at various less scrupulous sites than Wikiquote, sometimes to Marc Chagall and sometimes to Gian Carlo Menotti. It would be good to locate a proper source for one attribution or the other.
