It seems peculiar to me that, despite Peake having made some very great objective quotes, we only have a selection of seemingly arbitrarily (or at least, subjectively) chosen quotes from his literary works.

I understand that it is his artistic mind he is celebrated for, and that nothing better communicates this than his poetry. But I was able to learn more about the man's own rational perspective from this website: https://www.mervynpeake.org/artist.html

I am not suggesting that literary quotes of famous writers should not be included.
