To send light into the depths of the human heart -- this is the artist's calling!
[edit](Licht senden in die Tiefen des menschlichen Herzens -- des Künstlers Beruf!)
I couldn't find the primary source but this quote is found extensively on the Web in German. It also showed up in three or more books in the first two pages of Web search results. The quote is footnoted in one book ("Dichterjuristen: Band 1", by Mohr Siebeck, p. 160), but the footnote seems to only refer the reader to another secondary source. Someone with better German than mine would have to hunt this down. At least I was able to find what appears to be the original German. Star-lists (talk) 20:25, 10 February 2014 (UTC)
