  • For those who are given grace to understand the sermon spiritually, it far more than a collection of moral sayings, it is a manifesto of salvation, exposing the nature of sin and setting out the heavenly perspective of those who have eternal life. The sermon gives severe warnings of hell to those who commit wickedness or who judge, give, pray and preach hypocritically. The sermon on the mount has been the basis of whole series of sermons given by others such as Dr D M Lloyd-Jones.
