Martand temple[edit]

  • MonsterHunter32, your dispute is whether the image of the Martand temple can be used for the John Briggs quote. The John Briggs quote is about Sikandar so it shouldnt have been removed altogether from the article. The wikipedia article was making the connection between Martand and the John Briggs quote. If this is now disputed, I agree to not link the image to that quote. Sikandar did destroy also the Martand temple, see for example here [1], but the question is whether the John Briggs quote is about Martand or not.--Jedi3 (talk) 12:01, 16 February 2018 (UTC)
Jedi3 My dispute is not whether Sikandar destroyed the Martand temple or not, my dispute is simply you adding quotes that are not there in the original source. If Firshta doesn't mention Martand, then you shouldn't make up your own quote claiming it as his. MonsterHunter32 (talk) 13:13, 16 February 2018 (UTC)
As I said, Wikipedia made the connection between that quote and Martand. If that connection is now disputed, I'm fine with not using the image for the quote. But even in this case, the image of a temple in Kashmir connected to Sikandar was simply used for illustration for a quote about a temple in Kashmir connected to Sikandar. That Sikandar destroyed Martand Temple is a fact (see for example link above), so your edits in the wikipedia article are wrong. That means you are not checking the sources before editing. --Jedi3 (talk) 13:24, 16 February 2018 (UTC)
Where did it make? There is no quote about Martand temple from Ferishta in Wikipedia article of Sikandar Butshikan. It simply states he destroyed it, but mentions no quote of Ferishta regarding it. MonsterHunter32 (talk) 13:29, 16 February 2018 (UTC)

Jedi3 Wait a minute, what your pointing in the Wikipedia article is a statement by the editor not a quote. I read it again and only then it came out that it's not a quote. It's simply partially copied from the quote even though the original one doesn't mention Martand. You copied a whole edit that wasn't a quote. My edits are wrong? They are absolutely correct. You neither checked the source, nor the article properly. You made up a quote MonsterHunter32 (talk) 13:38, 16 February 2018 (UTC)
