The "Bacon" quote actually starts with "19. Queen Elizabeth was wont to say, upon the commission of sales, "That the commissioners used her like strawberry-wives...; so they made her two or three good prizes of the first particulars, but fell straightways." (See "The Works of Francis Bacon", Vol. I, 1753.) Usually, the collector of a quote collection is NOT described as the author of all quotes in it. --Ehitaja (talk) 11:35, 10 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
