Violence in the Quran[edit]

I think only the verses of the Qur'an that have been discussed by the scholars on this particular subject should be quoted here otherwise it's against the rules to add them according to our own personal understanding of these passages. ردم (talk) 06:53, 27 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

  • How many a township have We destroyed! As a raid by night, or while they slept at noon, Our terror came unto them.

So, when you meet (fighting Jihad in Allah's Cause), those who disbelieve smite at their necks till when you have killed and wounded many of them, then bind a bond firmly (on them, i.e. take them as captives)... If it had been Allah's Will, He Himself could certainly have punished them (without you). But (He lets you fight), in order to test you, some with others. But those who are killed in the Way of Allah, He will never let their deeds be lost."

  • As for the thief, both male and female, cut off their hands. It is the reward of their own deeds, an exemplary punishment from Allah. Allah is Mighty, Wise. (V.38)
  • Those that make war against God and His apostle and spread disorder shall be put to death or crucified or have their hands and feet cut off on alternate sides, or be banished from the country. (V.33)
