Template talk:Stub
Add topicVote notice
[edit]I have started a vote at Wikiquote talk:Stub regarding linking stub notices to the wikiquote page about stubs rather than to the wikipedia one. Your contribution will be appreciated. ~ MosheZadka (Talk) 08:19, 22 September 2005 (UTC)
Change Source Code
[edit]I'd like to suggest a change to the source code of this template, although I don't want to change it now, in case this issue has come up previously, or it was intentional. I noticed on Wikiquote the "expand this" text is represented as an external link. Is there a reason for this? If not, I suggest changing the source code to:
- <div class="notice metadata" id="stub"><table><tr><td></td><td>This stub page needs quotations, links to Wikipedia, or very brief additions of identifying source of information. See how you can help Wikiquote <span class="plainlinks">[ expand it]</span>.</td></tr></table></div>
Note the primary change of the source code is the addition of the <span class="plainlinks">, and there is no change to the actual display of the template, except the external link image is gone. Comments? --DanielBC 05:50, 4 June 2006 (UTC)
- I don't think this has come up before. It makes sense to remove the "external link" feel, which also appears in the other stub templates and other pages (like Village pump) that have a special edit link for themselves or their containing pages. I've updated this template and tested it. If no one has any objections to this, we should probably update all the other similar not-really-external links. ~ Jeff Q (talk) 19:29, 6 June 2006 (UTC)
- Thanks Jeff, I just didn't feel it was appropriate for me as a very new user to change a global template like stub . --DanielBC 21:34, 6 June 2006 (UTC)
