Thomas and the Billboard [12.1]

Thomas: I've never been on a billboard before!

Steady Eddie [12.2]

Edward: [puffing into Brendam Docks; to Gordon and Emily, who are already there] Good morning!

Sir Topham Hatt: [to the engines] The brand-new brass water wheel has just arrived from the mainland. It is magnificent. It will be displayed by the water works at Great Waterton. [to Edward] Edward, you will deliver the water wheel to Great Waterton. I have chosen you, Edward, because you are the steadiest engine. You are to take the express line. It is the smoothest and most direct way to Great Waterton.

Narrator: Gordon gasped. Edward was going to use his express line! Cranky lowered the water wheel onto Edward's flatbed. It had a shiny brass rim that gleamed in the sun. Everyone looked at the magnificent water wheel.

Edward: [after Cranky safely lowered the water wheel onto his flatbed] Edward the Steady, is at the ready!

Rosie's Funfair Special (UK) / Rosie's Carnival Special (US) [12.3]

[At Knapford Station, Sir Topham Hatt orders Emily to pull the funfair/special and Rosie to be her back engine, much to Rosie's disappointment]

Emily: I have a lot to do today. After we pull the funfair/carnival special, I have to collect the milk from High Farm.

[Rosie arrives at Brendam Docks where the funfair/carnival special is waiting]

Rosie: This is a very long train! [couples up to the funfair/carnival special, and didn't see that Emily was already coupled up on the other end, waiting for her; thinking] Emily will be pleased. [snaps off one of the couplings of the train while huffing and puffing and pulls half the train, leaving the other half behind with Emily] Hooray! I'm pulling the funfair/carnival special!

[Stepney is waiting in a siding to puff on the main line as Rosie passes him and he blows his whistle when the points change and the freight car of pink sugar is snapped from her train, now rolling towards him]

Rosie: [thinking] He's whistling at my funfair/carnival special!

Stepney: Oh, my! (US only)

[The freight car then crashes into him, and he is covered from funnel to footplate in pink sugar]

Sir Topham Hatt: [crossly to Rosie as she arrives at Maithwaite Station] I told you to be Emily's back engine!

Rosie: But I wanted to pull the funfair/carnival special all on my own, sir! I wanted to help Emily!

Sir Topham Hatt: You haven't helped anyone. You have caused confusion and delay. You left half the train. Now there'll be no funfair/carnival for the children.

Narrator: Rosie felt terrible. She wanted everyone to be proud of her, and now they were cross.

Rosie: Please, sir. I know just what to do. I'm a very quick engine. I can collect all the cars. Then I will be Emily's back engine, and we will deliver the funfair/carnival special in time.

---

[Emily is still stuck at the bottom of Gordon's Hill as Rosie arrives with Rocky]

Rosie: I am so sorry, Emily. I only wanted to help you. Rocky will clear the line. I will collect the other cars. Then, we can deliver the funfair/carnival special together!

Emily: [happily] Thank you, Rosie.

Rosie: [quickly collects the coconut freight car and a new one of pink sugar and returns to Gordon's Hill as Rocky lifts the Ferris Wheel seats off the track] I'm ready to be your back engine now.

[Later that evening, the children are all having fun at the funfair/carnival as Rosie and Emily watch]

Rosie: I hope we can work together on another special.

Emily: The sooner, the better.

Rosie: Working with you is the best of all.

Mountain Marvel [12.4]

Peter Sam: [excited] Thomas is collecting the famous storyteller, Mary Marvel! She is going to read at a special show! [Freddie, Mighty Mac and Duncan all whistle in excitement] I hope she tells stories about Proteus.

Mr. Percival: [showing up and gives all the engines special jobs] There is a lot to do. Please be back in good time for Miss Marvel.

Peter Sam: [surprised after he discovers a statue of Proteus, sitting on rusty old flatbed] Oh, my! Look! It's a statue of Proteus! It looks very old. [gets an idea; thoughtfully] No one must see the statue before the show. It will be my wonderful surprise, and I will be the star of the show! [to the farm workers] Please, can you cover this statue? I'll be back to collect it soon.

Peter Sam: [to Duncan, Mighty Mac and Freddie as they pass by] When you come back, please don't take the shortcut. There's something blocking the track.

---

Peter Sam: We are all stars of the show!

Henry Gets it Wrong [12.5]

Sir Topham Hatt: [coming to Tidmouth Sheds with bad news] A summer storm struck Sodor last night. The wishing tree was hit by lightning. [Gordon and Toby were both upset to hear that, but Henry was most upset of all] Some special woodsmen are arriving at Brendam Docks. [turns to Henry] Henry, you are to take them to the wishing tree right away. They have to be back at Brendam Docks by teatime. That's when their boat leaves.

Henry: Yes, sir. [puffs quickly away; comes up to a junction and decides to take the track that passes the wishing tree]

[As Henry arrives at the wishing tree, Edward was already there; They both see the tree's appearance after being struck by lightning]

Edward: Sometimes, Henry, special woodsmen have to cut trees down.

---

Henry: I wish the wishing tree would last forever and ever!

Heave Ho Thomas! [12.6]

Percy: Hank looks as strong as a giant.

Thomas: I'm sure he isn't stronger than a Sodor engine.

Sir Topham Hatt: Now, Thomas, I have three jobs for you. First, you must take new machines from the docks to the factory. Then, you are to pick up stone from the quarry and deliver it to the shunting yard. And lastly, you must pick up an old tractor from Farmer McColl's and take it to the repair yard.

Thomas: Yes, sir.

Sir Topham Hatt: And you must take Hank with you. Hank must see the important sights of Sodor. Be back by teatime for Hank's welcome party at Knapford.

Thomas: [buffers up to the machine cars as Hank puffs alongside him] Hello!

Hank: [cheerfully] Howdy, Thomas! Now you look like one of the finest little engines I've ever seen.

---

Hank: Howdy, everybody. Thomas is overloaded right now. I'll whistle for him!

Toby's Special Surprise [12.7]

Whiff: 'Hello, Toby! Why you looking at old tin cans?

Excellent Emily [12.8]

Sir Topham Hatt: Jeremy cannot land at the airport, and my mother is on board. The storm has blown some metal tanks across the runway. You must collect Trevor from Farmer McColl's. Take him to the airport so that he can clear the runway. Then Jeremy can land.

Emily: Oh, yes, sir. Excellent Emily can do it.

Murdoch: [puffing in alongside her] I'm going to Farmer McColl's too. Lots of lines are flooded. Take the Wellsworth track.

Emily: I'm not going on that track. It's much quicker to go through the forest. I'm Excellent Emily. I can make it through.

Duncan and the Hot Air Balloon [12.11]

Duncan: [has his cab fixed with a special birthday flag to celebrate Mr. Percival's twins' birthday before Mr. Percival came to see him] Shall I pick up the twins now?

Mr. Percival: No, Duncan. This year, I am giving them a ride in a hot air balloon for their birthday. Duncan, you must collect the hot air balloon from the transfer yards.

Duncan: [disappointed] Yes, sir. [chuffs away, sadly]

James Works it Out [12.12]

Trucks:

James is silly!

James is slow!

James has got us stuck in the snow!

Tram Trouble [12.13]

[Thomas puffs into Great Waterton and meets a female yellow steam tram named Flora]

Sir Topham Hatt: Thomas, this is Flora. She's the new steam tram on Sodor.

Flora: [sweetly at Thomas with a sunniest smile] Hello, Thomas.

Gordon Takes a Shortcut [12.15]

Sir Topham Hatt: [to Gordon and Stanley] Some very important passengers and a group of workmen are waiting at Great Waterton. The first engine to arrive will pick up the very important passengers. The second will collect the workmen.

Narrator: Gordon didn't want to pick up the workmen. He wanted to pick up the very important passengers.

Stanley: I need to get coal and water. See you at Great Waterton, Gordon!

Push Me, Pull You [12.19]

Rheneas: Those cars look heavy. I could help you.

Skarloey: No, thank you. I can pull these trucks on my own, Rheneas. I'm stronger than you.

Rheneas: No, you're not.

Skarloey: Oh, yes, I am. [gets an idea] We'll put the cars between us and pull our hardest. The strongest engine will pull the puppet show special.
