Tophace Byagira Kaahwa (born 1 September 1974) is a teacher and politician in Uganda, who serves as the country's ambassador to Japan.

Lowland rice is grown in water, and the method of wetland rice cultivation actually originated here. While we used to grow rice on the hills, the wetland planting technique was introduced later.

We're also exploring opportunities to collaborate on technology that can help us add value to our agricultural products. For example, with coffee, we aim to process it to the highest standards for export. We also have pineapples and other fruits, and we’re looking for the right technology to enhance their value, so we can export them, including to Japan.
