Thank you for your contribution Abdul Sattar Edhi. It does not meet Wikiquote's guidelines for formatting, however, for the following reasons:

1. Wikiquote uses inline citations of the following form:

  • Quotation.
    • Author, Source, Date

2. Wikiquote is not an encyclopedia. Encyclopedic content beyond one or two sentences will be deleted. Use Wikipedia to add encyclopedic content.

3. Format for life and death dates is bbbb - dddd.

4. Please add a link to the corresponding Wikipedia page of the form Template:Wikiquote so readers can find your new page.

Please use existing pages as a template. Do not improvise formatting. Please ensure all future contributions conform to Wikiquote standards. ~ Peter1c (talk) 23:14, 19 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Abdul Sattar Edhi[edit]

I have added a "{{prod}}" template to the article Abdul Sattar Edhi, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but it may not satisfy Wikiquote's criteria for inclusion, for the reasons given in the deletion notice (see also "What Wikiquote is not" and Wikiquote's deletion policy).

You may contest the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Votes for deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached.

On further investigation, I see the article has no quotations that meet Wikiquote's requirements for reliable sources. Collections of unsourced quotations are not considered a reliable source for quotations. I have nominated the article for deletion. ~ Peter1c (talk) 23:25, 19 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Peter1c Thank you for your concern and guide. I am contesting the "Prod" and also improving the page. I am sure you will extend me your good guides, as I am very beginner here. Nannadeem (talk) 13:17, 20 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Nannadeem. Thanks for improving the Abdul Sattar Edhi article. I have removed the {{prod}} tag. There are still some problems with the page, however:

  • Book and publication titles must be italicized (use two single quotes on either side of the word)
  • The initial line must link to wikipedia [[w:Abdul Sattar Edhi|Abdul Sattar Edhi]]
  • Wikiquote does not use "naked links" without accompanying text. Add a space after the http string followed by a description of the link. For example, instead of
interview in 2013 ([1])
use the following:
interview in 2013
  • This quote is not formatted correctly:
*I am a beggar for the poor. Serving humanity is the biggest Jihad, said Edhi
you have part of the citation on the quotation line. The first line is for quoted text, not a description of who said it
  • There is no need for "said Edhi" or to repeat the name of the author/speaker whose quotations are being collected
  • This quote is missing a period. Please pay attention to punctuation so other editors don't have to clean up for you:
  • Whereas the entire meaning of the Quran must easily be interpreted by the lives of Muslims, Islam's followers abandoned its essence
  • This quote is not formatted correctly:
  • So, many years later there were many who still complained and questioned, ‘Why must ** as quoted in Express Tribune (July 9, 2016). Retrieved on July 18, 2016.
the source line must be separated from the quotation by a newline character.
  • This quote is not formatted correctly:
  • Take care of the poor people of my country – Edhi’s dying words
"Edhi’s dying words" should be part of the attribution (second line) not the quote itself.

Thanks for your patience in learning the formats for Wikiquote. We look forward to your future contributions. ~ Peter1c (talk) 21:38, 21 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Peter1c Thanks. I will care and act accordingly. Page will be clean-up further in a day or two. Thanks again Nannadeem (talk) 21:48, 21 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]
