Merged content

[edit]

This page, "Wikiquote:Guide to layout/Television formatting", originated from merging together guidelines that had been developed for some individual articles, as a result of discussion at Wikiquote:Votes for deletion/The Cleveland Show/Format. The sub-sections below are from before that merger. ~ Ningauble 14:17, 3 December 2011 (UTC)Reply

Discussion

[edit]

This page is strictly for discussing the formatting and inclusion guidelines that are listed in Buffy the Vampire Slayer/Format. Discussions about the content of the main article, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, should take place at Talk:Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

Contexts for quotes

[edit]

Is there a reason why brackets are used to describe the context and not parentheses, which are commonly used in plays, etc.? xiner 02:21, 17 February 2006 (UTC)Reply

Advice to sources

[edit]

I reverted the new "Punctuation (crusade against ...)" section because it is advice about formatting sources, not the article. I would also recommend that any desired changes to article formatting policy be discussed on this talk page before adding them to the format page, because the current system is the de facto format guideline for all TV-show articles, and we should not be going off in novel directions without such discussions. ~ Jeff Q (talk) 07:44, 19 February 2006 (UTC)Reply

Character lists

[edit]

Should specific character lists be removed from the guideline? I realize some people may have found them convenient but I don't see a great need for them, and it doesn't seem right to include information about individual programs in a general guideline. ~ Ningauble 14:17, 3 December 2011 (UTC)Reply
