Process note
[edit]Under the policy at WQ:VOC, it is somewhat out of process to open a vote of confidence without first obtaining the support of at least three established users to move the question. ~ Ningauble (talk) 13:54, 8 February 2015 (UTC)
- This isn't a "vote of confidence", it's a community discussion about admin inactivity. -- Cirt (talk) 14:26, 8 February 2015 (UTC)
- Policy reads: "Restricted access depends on the continued support of the community. This may be tested by a vote of confidence..." If the community wants to withdraw support for special access, due to inactivity or for any other reason, this is currently the only means provided in policy for doing so.
Perhaps it is "just a formality", but I think removal of rights is a sufficiently grave matter to merit due process. ~ Ningauble (talk) 15:00, 8 February 2015 (UTC)

- This is essentially moot now, since I have provided a third endorsement for the recall, but I still strongly prefer that such matters be conducted within an established policy framework. ~ Ningauble (talk) 15:12, 8 February 2015 (UTC)
- In this particular case, the user was notified by three admins: Aphaia, BD2412, and myself. Unfortunately, all with zero response. -- Cirt (talk) 15:14, 8 February 2015 (UTC)
