The International Court of Justice (ICJ; French: Cour internationale de justice; CIJ), sometimes known as the World Court, is one of the six principal organs of the United Nations. It settles disputes between states in accordance with international law and gives advisory opinions on international legal issues. The ICJ is the only international court that adjudicates general disputes between countries, with its rulings and opinions serving as primary sources of international law.

Quotes

Both Parties shall refrain from any action which might aggravate or extend the dispute before the Court or make it more difficult to resolve.

  • The International Court of Justice (ICJ) is the primary judicial organ of the United Nations. It settles legal disputes between states and gives advisory opinions on legal questions referred to it by the UN General Assembly, Security Council, or other UN organs. If it allow to work freely exempted from the veto power of Security Council then we all the nations of the world can enjoy the real fruits of peace and justice. ~ Akhtar Aly Kureshy
