Alan Wake

[edit]
  • Back to the beginning. We all come to a story with hopes and expectations, looking for an answer. Sometimes, it would be better to live with that hope, without ever knowing the full story. In a horror story, there are only victims and monsters and the trick is not to end up as either. But, trapped by the genre, we are all ripped to pieces along the way. This is not the story I hoped it would be. This is not the ending I wanted. This story will eat us alive. This story is a monster. And monsters wear many faces.
  • You can't make something out of nothing. Even in the Dark Place, where the rules hardly apply, it’s very complicated to make fiction come true.
  • How many writers does it take to finish a story? One for each draft. It's the same writer, but at a different point in time.
  • I dive to the bottom to find the answer, the map-- the map and the key and the compass is combined to form a door leading out! But how do you open a door that's not a door? At the bottom of an ocean that's not an ocean in a lake... that's not a lake?
  • I'm lost! I'm lost in the dark, drowning. I'm drowning... I'm drowning, no way out. There's no way out. Sinking deeper and deeper and deeper, this is hell. I'm in hell, I died. I wish I was dead, let me die, I just wanna sleep! Please, let me sleep! I'm so tired-- I just wanna go home, I've written so much. I write and I write, there's nothing left! It's all gone! I don't know how to write. All the words are gone, there's no more words, where'd they go? Did I eat the words? I don't recognize these words anymore. Are the words moving? Oh, God, this is familiar. Why is this familiar? I-- I've been here before. Have I said this before? I've read this somewhere. Where am I? Who am I? "Alan Wake". "Wake"? That's a strange name, "A. Wake," that sounds like a character's name! Did I-- What, did I-- I write that name up, I make that what-- name up? I don't wanna be a character, I-- I don't wanna be in this story, just write me out of the story!
    • You will drown here! You're stuck in a loop. You don't have a clue. You're lost. You lost the plot. I'll show you...
  • How do you run from an idea? From a thought? From a story that lives in your head? You can't escape your fears. You carry your monsters with you. The devil on your back, it's in you. You're running right back to it -- a loop. I need to stop. Stop running. Stop writing. I won't write another word. It's too dangerous, only horror comes out of it. People get hurt. I will let the currents of this ocean wash me away.
  • What the fuck?!
  • It's called "Return" because... we return.
  • It's time someone gave me a straight answer here!
  • I was back exactly where I left. A dark forest outside Bright Falls. A gun in one hand, a flashlight in the other. Haunted by my own writing. Alice taken from me. I knew what I had to do. Stop the horror story from coming true. Stop the Dark Presence.
  • I'd driven down this road before. Been driving on it forever.
  • In 2010, I had dived in -- a leap of faith. For Alice. With no idea that the cost would be a nightmare worse than death. It had taken me thirteen years to get out. Now Alice was dead because of me. And I was gonna make that leap again, this time knowing the cost all too well. Another way to look at it: I had brought the Dark Place here with me. I never had gotten out. Maybe after this, I finally could. It was a fool's hope. I had no choice, I had to do it. It didn't make me any less terrified.
  • [to Scratch] C'mon, you motherfucker! C'mon! Come home!
  • What if there's nothing waiting to be revealed? The play of shadows fooled us all; subterfuge to get our price of admission. Darkness, not as a monster, but as emptiness.
  • We are none the wiser. No answers, no truths. The hero looks inside, is destroyed by what he sees, and is redeemed. Saga said we're both heroes. I'll pay that price, so will she. We are here to kill the monster. I pray nothing comes after this. Nothing but sleep.
  • This is how we win. Is it too easy? What if this is still the Dark Place? Another dream to wake up from. Always coming back to the beginning. The memory of what came before burned away by this terrible realization. Maybe it's a mercy, forgetting. To know nothing when we loop around, back to--
  • It's not a loop; it's a spiral.
  • A fictional poet once said "Beyond the shadow you settle for, there is a miracle, illuminated." I will not settle for a shadow. I will find the miracle, through the night. It's not just victims and monsters; I see now, there are heroes as well. We can find our way through the darkness. We will break through the surface and crash into the light.
  • It has taken so. Long. The process to change reality is so delicate, to be true in just the right way and still find a way past our flaws. So many drafts. So many photographs. So many lives lived outside of time -- an eternity apart on the journey to finally arrive here
  • And so I return. With me, I bear the torch of knowledge. The light -- the miracle illuminated. The master of two worlds. No. The master of many worlds.

Number One Fan

[edit]
  • [as The Writer, to Rose Marigold / The Waitress, delivered through a Billy Bass] It's me, your favorite writer whose voice you would recognize in your sleep! I'm in danger. Please, my number one fan, you're the only one who can save me!
  • [as The Writer, to Rose Marigold / The Waitress, delivered through a deer] I knew you, my number one fan, would never fall victim to my twisted brother's lies. His hatred for me is as inexplicable as the sunrise... and just as fiery. But I knew your heart would never waver. You're the only one who can save me. I believe in you.

North Star

[edit]

Saga Anderson

[edit]
  • Not a bad place to get murdered.
  • It's for us... the text is about us.
  • With dead men coming alive, the word "ritual" starts to have more weight behind it.
  • It's not true. It's just a fucking story, it's not true!
  • I neglected my family for my job. I was too thrilled by the cases, the mysteries. I liked how dangerous the work was. And now that danger has destroyed my family. It killed my daughter!
  • My life -- my family -- is just part of a book! Another white asshole deciding what I get to do, how I get to do it. I'll never be free of this story! From him!
  • This is our ending. You're not the only one deciding these things anymore.

Alex Casey

[edit]
  • Something about morgues, they always cheer me up.
  • I'd love to blame this on a mass hallucination caused by inhaling volcanic gas, but we both know that's bullshit. This was supernatural.
  • Yeah, the PI from your books has the same name as me. Great! Moving on.
  • I've only been lost once in my life... the years I spent with my ex-wife.
  • You're not gonna get what you want. You think you know -- you don't know shit. You don't really wanna know. You're gonna get what's coming to you.
  • The rain tried to wash away the sins of this city. Hm. But some sins, the evidence of the crimes committed, could never be erased. Not by the rain. Or any amount of therapy from Dr. Jack Daniels. It remained, bruises under my skin like tattoos. Bruises in my soul. Scar tissue on my heart. The rain never stopped falling. And I never stopped drinking.
  • I was dead tired. I just wanted it to be over. It was all my fault. Sometimes, I'd forget the pain was there. Like it was the way you were supposed to feel. I was not in a dark place — I was the dark place, the source of it all, the vessel. Me and the writer... we were the same.
  • There wasn't enough alcohol in this city to drown the memories of this nightmare, but I'd damn well try. This case would never be closed, I had more questions now than at the start, the irony of being trapped in a postmodern detective story. I felt watched, the eyes of an unseen audience on me. I wanted to turn to the hidden camera and tell them to fuck off- but I didn't know where to look to break the fourth wall. There would always be another case for Casey. A million stories in this dark city. The night opened up to welcome me. I walked into her arms. Roll credits.
  • I'm a goner. Swell. A shadow crawling under my skin. In my head. Call my ex, tell her I'm sorry. Terminal Case Casey.
  • It is a spiral.
  • Is it over? Anderson?
  • [released at the end of the Night Springs DLC as a tribute to James McCaffrey] Chasing the murder cult made me feel like I was caught in a loop. Every time I thought I was getting closer, things shifted around, and I realized I was further away than ever before. Instead of answers, I only got more questions. The name of the cult and the masks they wore kept changing. The deeper into the dark depths I got, peeling off the layers of this case like the ocean zones from twilight to midnight to abyssal to the deepest trenches, the closer I felt to going mad.

Mr. Door

[edit]
  • After this, I'm sure we'll all be eagerly awaiting the culmination of this Hero's Journey trilogy of yours! A book called "Return", perhaps...
  • All this talk of meta narratives has me expecting to disappear once this scene ends.
  • You keep opening doors. Peeking in. Reaching through to get what you want, and that puts you in my path.
  • The next time we meet, the circumstances will be very different. And you would do well to return the favor by playing your part... or stay out of my way, Mr. Wake.
  • Night Springs. A special place -- a shifting space, existing in a countless number of parallel realities. Sometimes a quaint, small town. Sometimes, a hulking metropolis. Different every time we set upon the road that leads us there. And yet, like a half-remembered echo of a fading dream, always familiar to us. These are the stories that take place there. Awe-inspiring. Macabre. Terrifying, heartbreaking, nail-biting, absurd... and thrilling. Sometimes, all of these things at once. A haunting new season of mind-bending episodes written by Alan Wake. I am your host, Warlin Door, and I will see you soon in... Night Springs.

Night Springs DLC

[edit]

Number One Fan

[edit]
  • A fan. The dictionary definition of the work is: "An enthusiast. A fervent devotee. An abbreviation of... 'fanatic'." What comes across to an outsider as a dangerous obsession, or even madness, is something... entirely different from the point of view of the fan herself. To be a fan... is a joyous existence, one filled with the happiness that stems from knowing, with utter clarity, the purpose of your life. But what if that purpose could be more still? If you could be lifted out of the flock as your idol's chosen one? The only one who could decipher his secret messages? Hm... What lengths would you go to save the object of your obsession in... Night Springs? Tonight's cult-classic episode: "Number One Fan".
  • A fan and the object of her joy come together against a world trying to keep them apart. A happy ending, for some. But is happiness, like beauty, all in the eye of the beholder? Where is the line between fandom and fixation? One can never tell in... Night Springs.

North Star

[edit]
  • A young woman on a mission to save a missing loved one. Desperately trying to stay one step ahead of the shadowy government agents hunting her. Agents from the very same agency... that took the only person she cares about. On her quest, she is guided by her mysterious alien guardian angel. Her guiding star shows her the way, as it always has. She does not know what strangeness awaits her, as she follows its unwavering light to the small town... of Night Springs. Tonight's dreamlike episode: "North Star".
  • A conspiracy within a conspiracy. How can one expose a lie when the truth exists beyond our wildest imagination? Who can ever truly know how deep the rabbit hole goes in... Night Springs?

Time Breaker

[edit]
  • We often look back and wonder, "what if?" What if the path not taken had, in fact, been our charted course? Would we be happier? Or are we, with our set of choices behind us, the lucky ones? And what if nothing would be different? What if, for some of us, our destiny across the endless number of version of ourselves, has been defined and locked beyond any causality of circumstance? Beyond the forces in any one reality, but across... all realities? For one man, the magnetic pull of destiny is so great, it breaks time and space. We join this lone operative -- many versions of him, in fact -- as he chases his nemesis, a dangerous being known as the Master of Many Worlds, across the multiverse. Across the many versions of a city that is always the same, yet always different in... Night Springs. Tonight's reality-bending episode: "Time Breaker".
  • I am... on the threshold. Liminal... A DOOR! EVERYWHERE!
  • We have witnessed a case of mistaken identity. But in the vastness of the multiverse, with an endless number of versions of ourselves... what is identity, anyway? Can there be more than one Master of Many Worlds? Or did our take a wrong turn somewhere along the way? Was this particular journey precisely what was needed to make him the one he was meant to become? One thing is certain: I am your host. The one and only Warlin Door. And this is... Night Springs.

Scratch

[edit]
  • We made this! Our story! Our ending! Our book! We are one! We belong together! Welcome me back home!
  • The end!

Night Springs DLC

[edit]
  • [as the Bad Boy, regarding the Writer] He had his chance for popcorn and movie nights, but he wanted to keep everything for himself! Too bad. You know what they say -- if you can't join 'em, beat 'em.
  • [as the Bad Boy, imitating the Writer] Oh, joy! We can finally be together and sit through beat poetry readings and drink eighteen dollar cocktails and have high tea with the Queen!
  • [as the Bad Boy] I didn't want to do this, but you forced my hand. You see, I'm not just a rugged anti-hero type. I'm also... A werewolf! And my motorcycle is also a werewolf!
  • I'm so powerful that I don't need a full mooooooooon to transform!
  • Now you see the sexy monster within me!
  • My brother's not a werewolf, in case that wasn't clear.

Others

[edit]
  • The Cult of the Tree: This is the ritual to lead you on. His friends will meet you when you're gone.
  • Nightingale: You are not allowed in the lake until he says otherwise.
  • Odin Anderson: Don't be the story. Make the story.
  • Thomas Zane: "Oh, mercy. Thousands have gone missing. Beyond the labyrinth of me. When you're lost, you're lost in your own company." And cut! Oh... Now that is drama.
  • Agent Estevez: Alan Wake is a Parautilitarian. The word's a mouthful, so you know it's serious.
  • Nightless Night Opening Text: In a poem he told us, he once mistook an ocean for a lake. He spent his whole life in the depths of this mystery. Wandering in the shadows under a dark ocean. Forever searching for a way into the light to his love.
  • Ahti: Earth is a cyclical song.
  • Dr. Casper Darling: This place is a dreamscape! But who's the dreamer? And how do you wake up from this dream...?
  • Tor Anderson: Get your guitar roaring and your drums crashing! Blow reality's eardrums!
  • Agent Estevez: A whole lot of paranatural crimes happening right now... but it's fucking awesome! I want a t-shirt!

Night Springs DLC

[edit]

Number One Fan

[edit]
  • Rose / The Waitress: Life's a funny thing. You spend all your time wishing and hoping and dreaming for something and then BAM! Destiny shows up at your door like a mailman with a package you were pretty sure got lost because you ordered it, like, six months ago. But that's okay! When your destiny has eyes like sunsets and a beard like mahogany-covered velvet, you don't really mind how it arrives. But my day didn't start off with all that excitement! It began like any other day did for this for this waitress-slash-protector of the town of Night Springs!
  • Rose / The Waitress: [repeated line] The stakes had never been higher.
  • Rose / The Waitress: I was leaving my old life behind, like a body left to sink in a lake so no one finds it.
  • Rose / The Waitress: Why hadn't my writer ever told me he had a semi-evil twin brother? He must be waiting until our third or fourth date, surrounded by candles, so he could reveal this vulnerable chapter from the dramatic story of his emotionally troubled past. Oh... that man has more layers than a croissant.
  • Rose / The Waitress: Whoops! Gotta put more bullets in.
  • Rose / The Waitress: My writer believed in me. We were kindred spirits; we fit together like a bicycle chain and that spikey wheel thing the chain fits into.
  • Female Hater: Are his books bad on purpose?!
  • Male Hater: I found numerous typos!
  • Rose / The Waitress: And there he was. After all the fighting, we were finally alone, together. Our love was written in the stars. And so, we danced like two spinning planets that would eventually crash into each other in a dazzling display of flames and rocks and other planet stuff. He told me all the sweet things I'd been waiting a lifetime to hear. I saw myself reflected in his eyes. I would always be at his side, to inspire and protect him. He needed me, now and forever. After all, I am his number one fan.

North Star

[edit]
  • Jesse Faden / The Sibling: This is gonna get... strange. There's no helping it. The universe is much deeper and weirder than people know. My brother and I know. We've seen it. We've seen you. But there are some people -- an agency -- that doesn't want anyone knowing more than what they see. That's why they took my brother, and have been chasing me my whole life. But I can't keep running.
  • Orientation Video Narrator: Dark Triangle Coffee is a fast-growing company with ambitions to sweep the nation, and eventually the globe... with our out-of-this-world beverages! Drawn by our coffee's distinctive flavor and our unique beans, people are rushing to join the Dark Triangle Movement. The company's mission statement is simple: To drink the truth is to become one. Our financial and spiritual growth has been accelerating at speeds previously unknown to humanity. Soon, everyone will only know the flavor of Dark. Triangle. Coffee. And the world will be as one under its rich and aromatic umbrella of peace. And java great time here at Coffee World, where the flavor is out of this world.
  • Jesse Faden / The Sibling: What is this agency trying to do here? Control people? But why? What's their plan? What if my brother has already been...? No. I didn't come all this way to lose him now.
  • Infected Coffee Mascot: The promised Mug has been found. You feel like the Mug.
  • Infected Coffee Mascot: Join the percolation.

Time Breaker

[edit]
  • Sam Lake / The Director: Acronyms are cool, right? Like tiny mysteries!
  • Shawn Ashmore / The Actor: Okay! I'm an actor, I can do this. And once it's over, we'll have a good laugh. And then... I will punch Sam in the face!
  • Shawn Ashmore / The Actor: Something was different. A strange feeling. Still, yet moving. Like frozen snapshots on a sequential path. And yet, thoughts, flowing free-- like text read out loud.
  • Jesebet / The Agent: Real and not real exist side-by-side in the multiverse. Echoes flow through it like currents in a cosmic ocean. The Sea of Night. Conceptual, fictional, real... More real than real. Many versions of us all, in hidden interaction, linked by the energies that ripple through realities.
  • Jesebet / The Agent: [regarding Mr. Door] There are legends about him going further back than we can trace. They say he found an opening to a horrifying parallel reality that consumed him. Gave him access to all realities. The feedback loop killing all other versions of him.
  • Time Breakers: Learn your lines, play the part. The Master of Many Worlds. We came through the door.
  • Text Box: The words describe you standing in a barren, conceptual desert. It stretches on to eternity. In a place outside time, you wait an immeasurable amount of time. Above, ideas of stars silently collide and collapse into black holes.
  • Text Box: You tell yourselves you can rest here. You think you can be happy here.
  • Text Box: You step inside and stand in a room with a man, the Master of Many Worlds, sitting behind a desk, typing, turning concepts and ideas into words, shaping this reality. He lifts his head. You stare the man in the eye. With a shock, you realize you have made a mistake. You have come to the wrong place. This man, this Master of Many Worlds, is not the one you were looking for. He is not Door. He is someone else entirely. You want to ask him what he knows, but it is already too late.

Dialogue

[edit]
Saga: You know what happens to cops who say this is their last case.
Casey: Mm-hm. Real funny, Anderson.

Alan: He's-- He's changed the story! The D-- The Dark Presence! We must stop it... before--!
Saga: Easy now. First things first, what's your name?
Alan: My name is Alan Wake. I'm a writer! I-- I've been...
Saga: Wake? Where did you come from? You've been missing for thirteen years!
Alan: Thirteen...?

Saga: The writer's name has been scratched out pretty violently, but your name can still be made out underneath.
Alan: "Scratched out." Yeah. Scratch.

Mr. Door: Are you okay there, my friend? You look like you've been cooped up in the writer's room for a few too many years!
Alan: That's exactly how I feel.
Mr. Door: Y'know, I've waited so long to get my hands on the sequel to "Departure". You left us on quite the cliffhanger! We've all been dying to know what "It's not a lake; it's an ocean" really means.
Alan: You and me both.

[After Mr. Door describes "Initiation" and, by extension, Alan's situation: trapped in the Dark Place, trying to write his way out.]
Alan: Go on! I should be taking notes here, this is great stuff!
Mr. Door: Notes to that other Alan Wake in that room, writing this as we speak? Are we all in your story, Alan?

Casey: Is this the way it was on the page?
Alan: What the hell...?
[Alex Casey steps out of the shadows and stops next to Wake. The light crosses his face, revealing him. He looks just like the actor in the talk show, but his face is grim. Wake is puzzled, thinking he recognizes the actor.]
Alan: Oh, hey. We met at Door's show.
[Casey doesn't share the greeting. He stares intensely.]
Casey: Alan Wake, the writer. I'm Alex Casey. I'm looking into a murder.
Alan: C'mon, wha-- What is this?
Casey: There's a piece of evidence, a manuscript of a novel. You wouldn't know anything about it?
Alan: Manuscript? What manuscript? I need to see it.
[Wake looks at Casey and suddenly: Over Casey, there is another Casey, an echo, a ghost, shifting and flickering. Wake stares at Casey as if he sees and hears it all.]
Casey: [voiceover] Rumor had it, the manuscript contained the details of the murders. A murder cult was following the story to commit their gruesome acts. Was Wake their leader? Had he written it? How far would he go to create a perfect work of art? Or would he be the next victim?

Alan: You're me? Me? I don't understand... There's a lot I don't understand.
Future Alan: The Dark Place operates in loops. Time is a story. I'm calling you from a different point in that story.
Alan: From the future? I'm never getting out of here, am I...?
Future Alan: Yes, you will. And no, you won't. And that is by your own choice.

Dr. Casper Darling: Have we met? You look familiar.
Tom Zane: Well, you sound familiar.

Alan: I'm in control now. The second you try anything, I will shoot you in the head! Scratch wrote "Return", not me. You're a fucking liar!
Zane: You had given up. You stopped writing! You said it was too dangerous to return, that-- that we didn't deserve to get out! Then he showed up... Scratch. He promised to write. To get me the hell out of here... He was magnificent. A visionary. I mean... It was art. But when he finished... he took "Return" and left me behind.
Alan: It's still here, and so is he!
Zane: I know I fucked up. But you can still catch him before he gets out, before he gets to your wife! When you get to him, don't hesitate. Kill the bastard for what he did to us!

Alan: Masks come off.
Mr. Door: Oh, I wouldn't go that far. I don't think you even know who's under your mask.

Number One Fan

[edit]
Customer: How do you juggle running this diner, your bird sanctuary, and that amazing fan site for the writer you love so much?
Rose / The Waitress: I work extremely hard. But also, I'm naturally talented.
Customer: Well, heck! No wonder us regular folks can't keep up. I'll never be as successful as you...
Rose / The Waitress: You won't be with that attitude! Life's not a side-order of hashbrowns, so don't expect someone to bring it to you!
Customer: Wow. That's tough, but fair. Thank you for telling me exactly what I needed to hear.
Rose / The Waitress: No problem!

Guy with the Concerning Mole: My date last night was a total bust! You're the expert on romance. Any advice?
Rose / The Waitress: Yes! But first, tell me everything.
Guy with the Concerning Mole: Last night, she told me that I dressed like a divorced gym teacher. But it's what's inside that matters, right?
Rose / The Waitress: Right! Show them the real you, and it will all work out. Talk about that mole you worry about when you're trying to fall asleep!
Guy with the Concerning Mole: Well, I'll try that! Thanks a million.
Rose / The Waitress: Don't mention it!

Rose / The Waitress: Who are you, and why do you look like a slightly less handsome version of my Writer?
Scratch / The Bad Boy: Oh, don't you ever compare me to that worthless hack! Sure, I may be his wild and rebellious estranged twin brother, but... we can't all be perfect.

Rose / The Waitress: I'll stop you!
Scratch / The Bad Boy: Babe, I got an army of people who hate that hack almost as much as I do. They're ready to die if it stops him from writing another crappy book. What do you got?
Rose / The Waitress: I have a shotgun!
Scratch / The Bad Boy: Well, I got a--! Wait, is that-- That's a real shotgun? Okay, I admit, that's, uh... I didn't-- I didn't expect that. [clears throat] But it doesn't matter. You can't stop all of us.

Rose / The Waitress: You are going to tell me where he is, or else!
Scratch / The Bad Boy: Or else what, babe?
Rose / The Waitress: You asked for it! You're rude, you have no manners, your too-cool-to-care attitude is attractive initially, but drives people away after they realize you're emotionally incapable of letting your walls down to reveal that you are a vulnerable human being just like everybody else, you are trying way too hard with that outfit, you--
Scratch / The Bad Boy: Oh, stop! I don't like being seen!

Scratch / The Bad Boy: Go ahead. Finish me off.
Rose / The Waitress: I'm not going to kill you! You're my darling Writer's brother.
Scratch / The Bad Boy: You really do love him, huh? I guess I never even had a chance. I was just jealous of his talent. His money. His velvety hair. But mostly... that he's got the love of somebody as amazing as you.
Rose / The Waitress: Oh, you silly werewolf! You can have all those things, too. You just need to stop wanting to be him, and start wanting to be you.
Scratch / The Bad Boy: Your words have shown me that it wasn't my brother I hated... it was myself. Oh, what have I done?! Those haters will tear him apart, and it's all my fault! Please... go save him!
Rose / The Waitress: Oh, I intend to.

North Star

Tim Breaker / The Sheriff: You shouldn't be here. How did you even get inside?
Jesse Faden / The Sibling: [thinking] Shit. A cop. Should I lie? [out loud] I... kinda let myself in.
Tim Breaker / The Sheriff: You got more than you bargained for, huh?

Jesse Faden / The Sibling: What's going on here? What are those shadow... people?
Tim Breaker / The Sheriff: Well, that's what I'm here trying to figure out. The government's been putting something in the coffee. Turning people into coffee monsters.

Jesse Faden / The Sibling: Something in the coffee is doing this? Really?
Tim Breaker / The Sheriff: Took me a while to wrap my head around it, too. At first, I thought... Well, I don't know what I thought. But now, it's clear: This is deep state science.

Verification Machine: Please recite the optimum roasting temperature for Dark Triangle coffee beans in Farenheight.
Jesse Faden / The Sibling: I'm not a fucking barista!
Verification Machine: That is: incorrect.

Verification Machine: Further verification required.
Jesse Faden / The Sibling: Oh, come on!
Verification Machine: Try the coffee.
Jesse Faden / The Sibling: I... tried the coffee.
Verification Machine: YOU ARE NOT COFFEE. TRY. THE. COFFEE.
Jesse Faden / The Sibling: Worth a shot.

Verification Machine: Try the coffee.
Jesse Faden / The Sibling: I... tried the coffee.
Verification Machine: YOU ARE COFFEE. FORFEIT YOUR WEAPONS. WEAPONS ARE FORBIDDEN IN THE MUG'S PRESENCE. DEPOSIT.
[Jesse does so.]
Verification Machine: YOU MAY ENTER. WELCOME, COFFEE.

Jesse Faden / The Sibling: Sheriff... how'd you get in here?
Tim Breaker / The Sheriff: Coffee time is family time. It's the best part of the day.
Jesse Faden / The Sibling: Hey! Snap out of it!
Tim Breaker / The Sheriff: Coffee solves all your problems. It lowers heart disease and leads to higher life expectancy!
Jesse Faden / The Sibling: Fuck! I'm so sorry, Sheriff!

Time Breaker

[edit]
Shawn Ashmore / The Actor: Was that okay? I mean, I can do more. I can do less.
Sam Lake / The Director: Yes! Yes! Yes! Shawn, I'm really happy. Let's talk. I love your instinct on this, but we can still push this further. Immerse ourselves into the story, believe in it, make it crazier! Wilder!

Shawn Ashmore / The Actor: You... clearly have your own vision, um, of the multiverse.
Sam Lake / The Director: The right vision! The truth. It's all out there. That's where these ideas and inspirations come from. They seep through. Somewhere, this here, us talking, is part of the video game, and another version of you is playing it. Somewhere, your character -- the Agent -- is real, and he could appear here through a portal any time now.
Shawn Ashmore / The Actor: Right. Yeah, yeah! Right, Sam. You are a maniac, man, totally.

Shawn Ashmore / The Actor: Was there something between you and Branch?

Shawn Ashmore / The Actor: But maybe...
Jesebet / The Agent: You'll come back for me? Ha. Maybe.
Shawn Ashmore / The Actor: Wish me luck.
Jesebet / The Agent: Luck is just an echo of an event carried over from another reality.

'Warlin Door / The Master of Many Worlds: Impressive. Out of all the versions you might be the Chosen One. Join me and we'll rule together.
Shawn Ashmore / The Actor: No! Never!
'Warlin Door / The Master of Many Worlds: You will regret this. Also, I was lying. Ha ha ha!
