The Suikoden series, created by Konami, focuses on the dynamic of building huge armies of player characters (typically over 100) and waging large-scale wars in addition to party-driven combat in the style of a Final Fantasy game.
The series is loosely based on the Chinese novel Water Margin.
Suikoden I and II were released for the Sony PlayStation, while III, IV, and V debuted on the PlayStation 2.
