why add this category to Category:Categories requiring diffusion[edit]
@Ferien:,
With over 200 page entries, this category has already been partially diffused into two subcategories:
- Articles deleted on the English Wikipedia (3 P)
- Articles with drafts on the English Wikipedia (1 P)
so it does not look like anyone has been actively doing much diffusion work.

- @Ottawahitech: That makes more sense, I just don't think it's a category that actively needs diffusing. Feel free to readd the category about diffusion if you feel it's necessary. --Ferien (talk) 22:07, 20 March 2022 (UTC)
- I guess that depends on whether admins on this project want ordinary editors to help weeding out articles in this maintenance category. Ottawahitech (talk) 22:14, 20 March 2022 (UTC)
- The decision doesn't have to be made by an administrator. It's just it's a maintenance category so it would probably get viewed anyway. --Ferien (talk) 19:15, 21 March 2022 (UTC)

- Ottawahitech, the purpose of this category is to find articles that could be eligible for deletion here because they weren't created on enwiki which has quite strict notability requirements. If it was deleted on enwiki then there's probably a higher chance that the article is eligible for deletion and then if it's a draft, you can see whether enwiki editors have considered it notable or not, which can be helpful in finding whether the article is eligible for deletion/ --Ferien (talk) 11:59, 12 April 2022 (UTC)

- Ottawahitech, it could be helpful, but to be honest, if people are going to check an article, then they might as well check for notability because that's what the purpose is of all the categories are, while simply diffusing the category would be postponing that check to later. --Ferien (talk) 21:16, 12 April 2022 (UTC)

what is the purpose of this category?[edit]
This category was created in 2018. Here are its PAGEVIEWS STATISTICS. It shows that it has been viewed 14 times a month on average.
Based on these pageview statistics it appears that few, if any, wikiquotiants regularly look at it, let alone use it for the purpose of maintaining WQ? Ottawahitech (talk) 16:15, 1 November 2022 (UTC)
