- Notes: The Renais knight turncoat who sided with Grado to resurrect his dead wife, Monica. After he dies at Renais at the hands of Eirika and Ephraim's forces, he cries this out.
Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance[edit]
- Urhg! I...I'm meant for better than this... I don't want to die here...
- Who: Zawana
- Notes: The first villain encountered in Path of Radiance, Zawana says this after he is killed.
- This... This can't be... I don't deserve to lose to sellswords like you...
- Who: Ikanau
- Notes: A bandit who has kidnapped Mist and Rolf, Ikanau is soon vanquished by the Greil Mercenaries and says this as he dies.

- Notes: The first Daein boss encountered in Path of Radiance, after being slain, Maijin says these dying words.

- Notes: A Daein officer attempting to capture Elincia who's hiding in a fort, Dakova says the former if he is killed by the Greil Mercenaries. In the latter if he survives the battle, he reports back to Petrine and is presumably executed as he begs for mercy.

- Notes: Rikard is one of the many enemy generals encountered throughout the game of Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance. In Chapter 24: Battle Reunion, Rikard utters his last words when or if he is defeated by the player.

Character is revealed to have survived the first duel, and fights Ike again in the sequel. He is slain there, and his second line is in reference to his master, Sephiran.

Fire Emblem Fates[edit]

- Who: Queen Mikoto
- Notes: The birth mother of the player character and monarch of the Hoshido kingdom. In Chapter 5, a hooded stranger drew forth the player's sword and used its power to slay innocent bystanders by creating an explosion. After that, the assassin uses the shards to attempt to impale the player, only for Mikoto to block the attack from stabbing the player, but killing herself in the process. In anguish and rage, the player character awakens his/her latent Dragon-blood form and retaliates against the assailant.

- Who: Zola
- Notes: A dark mage for the Kingdom of Nohr, he originally attacked the player by posing as the noble Izana, only to be defeated by the player character. In Birthright, as the player's brother Leo threatens to kill Zola for failing to stop the Hoshidians, the player convinces Leo to spare him and the mage is instead exiled. In the city of Cyrkensia, Zola uses his magic to disguise the songstress Azura as the singer Layla to cover for her only for the group to later be found out by Nohr tyrant Garon, who executes Zola for his cowardice in front of the team, as well as for Garon to spare the Avatar, believing he/she was brainwashed by the Hoshidans.
- Felicia, Lord/Lady (Avatar)... I regret everything.
- Who: Flora
- Notes: A handmaiden for the main player character since his/her youth growing up in the Nohrian Kingdom. In Birthright, Flora was sent by King Garon to kill the player and the Hoshidian army to prevent the massacre of Flora's people, the Ice Tribe. After defeating her, she confesses to her guilt before commiting suicide by self-immolation.

- Notes: Said when he is defeated in Birthright, Chapter 24.
- Lord Avatar...be brave...and go on without me.
- Who: Lilith
- Notes: In Birthright Chapter 24, she ends up dying from wounds she got from taking an ax hit from Hans.

- Notes: After being defeated in Chapter 25 of Birthright, he ends up being killed by Leo.
- Xander... Your sword... Lay it down for me... Nohr needs more from you... Not just your strength... (groans in pain) What we need.... And a warm hand... and tears. That's the way. Try to be at peace...

- Notes: The Avatar's youngest sister on the Nohrian side. In Chapter 26, she takes a sword slice from Xander to prevent him from killing the Avatar. She dies in Xander's arms as a result.

- Notes: One of Xander's retainers. Said if the player chooses to fight and kill him in Birthright Chapter 26.

- Notes: The crown prince of Nohr, and the Avatar's eldest brother on the Nohrian side. Due to him being emotionally destroyed by accidentally killing his sister, Elise, he engages the Avatar to have him/her kill him, and ends up dying from the wounds he got from fighting the Avatar in Chapter 26 of Birthright.
- Because you were my most precious pawn. I knew I could use you to get to Queen Mikoto. No matter. I feel at peace now. How long has it been since I felt like this? Perhaps this is what I wanted all along.. The sweet release of death... My... my body was destroyed. My mind... lost.. Ever since that moment, I became something...something...

- Notes: The undead king of Nohr. In the Birthright route, he says the above as a response to the Avatar's question of why he didn't kill him when he should have after being defeated in the Endgame, where he starts regaining sense of his former pre-corpse self before evaporating into water.

- Notes: as she is reduced to nothing but water bubbles at the end of Birthright.

- While her fate is left ambiguous, it is possible that she is killed by Hans's troops when he goes on a killing spree on Cheve, murdering the remaining injured Hoshidans, Chevois Knights, and Chevois civilians.

- Notes: One of the Avatar's brothers on the Hoshidan side. In Conquest Chapter 23, he ends up prior to committing suicide by throwing himself off a wall, due to being possesed by Anankos. In the Endgame, his corpse shows up completely controlled by Anankos.
- "We will win this war. The world...will one day...know peace..."
- Who: Saizo
- Notes: One of Ryoma's retainers and Kaze's brother. In Chapter 25, he is fought, and you can kill him (which is required to reach the dragon vein to weaken Ryoma on higher difficulties)

- Notes: in Chapter 25, One of Ryoma's retainers. In Chapter 25, she is fought, and you can kill her (which is required to reach the dragon vein to weaken Ryoma on higher difficulties)

- Who: Ryoma
- Notes: The main player character's Hoshidan brother. In Conquest, the Avatar is forced to fight him due to him thinking that he/she murdered Hinoka when they really didn't. After defeating him, Garon orders the Avatar to kill him, which the Avatar is reluctant to do so. Ryoma, desperate to spare the Avatar the guilt of killing him, and not wanting Garon to punish the Avatar for not carrying out the order, commits suicide by stabbing himself.
- Pfft to your honor! I'd rather win than be honorable! After all, the winner is the one who writes the history books! Now, put down your weapons! If you don't, the girl—
- Who: Zola
- Notes: In Chapter 10 of Revelation, after being defeated, he holds Sakura hostage in the hope of preventing the player character from killing him. He ends up being interrupted by Leo killing him with a magic attack from his Brynhildr tome, because Leo was disgusted by Zola's cowardly tactics.

- Notes: In Revelation, after the Avatar saves him and Takumi from Zola's forces, he ends up dying from a ritual where he communicated with his gods to give Takumi a message to trust in the Avatar to follow him/her.
- Avatar. Use the Yato. Make...your own destiny...
- The Rainbow Sage
- In Revelation, he dies from natural causes after giving the Yato power.

- Notes: Said when he is defeated in Revelation

- Notes: In Revelation, the Avatar and their party is forced to kill her after she was brought back as minion of Anankos in Chapter 24 of Revelation.
- Now I can die without regrets. After all...I believe...that all of you...can win this war...
- Who: Sumeragi
- Notes: Ryoma's father, and the late former king of Hoshido, after the party is forced to kill him in Chapter 25 of Revelation, due to him becoming an undead minion of Anankos.
- I serve the great Anankos! Of course I would come when called. It seems that Gunter proved a poor conduit for the Silent Dragon, however. A pity—I thought that having him cast into Valla would be enough… Anankos! Use me to channel your mighty power, instead! Join with me, and together we can rule this pitiful world!
- Who: Garon
- Notes: After Anankos is first defeated, he summons Garon to Valla. Garon tries to become Anankos's vessel, but Anankos decides to eat Garon to regain his power. The last sound Garon makes as he's eaten is "Wha—GAAAAAAAAAAH!".
- Never you mind, insect! You stand no chance against a dragon! I'll crush your bones beneath my feet—and even that fate is more than you deserve!
- Who: Anankos
- Notes: After being defeated, Anankos eats Garon to regain his power before he transforms into his dragon form at the end Chapter 27 of Revelation, as he never talks again before being defeated in the Endgame of that route.
Fire Emblem: Shadows of Valentia[edit]
- Take the Divine Falchion that sealed... Mila's strength. Duma has become a thing of mindless evil. Use the blade... Destroy him... Please, my son... You must--
- Who: Emperor Rudolf
- Notes: The emperor of Rigel, and Alm's birth father. After being defeated by Alm, he reveals to Alm that he is his son. He uses his last breath to tell Alm what he must do after being defeated by Alm.
- Good.. I am... rather tired. Tired of despair, tired of rage... But Clive, I'm glad I got to see you one last time. You were right... You chose the right king. You always were the... friend I was... proudest to--
- Who: Fernand
- Notes: A Zofian noble from Echoes who betrayed the Deliverance after Clive gave Alm command of the Deliverance in Act I. In Act V, he ends up dying in Clive's arms from deadly injuries brought onto himself from Berkut and Rinea's fire spirit attacking him
- You were born to lead. This just wasn't your empire. So come with me now. Let us find our empire together. If you'll still take me for your empress?

- Notes: After being defeated by Alm after she was sacrificed to Duma, her soul comes back to comfort Berkut as he's dying
- You're not... a child anymore. Alm, you must... make Valentia a land not... of gods, but of men. A world where people... never again... are corrupted by divine power. You can do it... I know---
- Who: Berkut
- Notes: Dying after Alm and his party are forced to kill him, due to him becoming a minion of Duma
- Alm, please... Listen, Alm, you have to... stop me before I kill you! You know what you have to do! ALM, do it now! KILL ME!!!!
- Who: Celica
- Notes: Alm's childhood friend and romantic interest. In the Echoes remake, Jedah has Duma steal her soul to make Duma stronger and be fully revived, resulting in her becoming a mindless minion of Duma. She ends up dying when Alm stabs her with the recently unbinded Valentian Falchion. Fortunately, she gets revived thanks to Mila (whose soul was in the blade) using the last of her powers to revive her.
- Alm, Anthiese, children of fate, you have overcome much to reach me here, and I thank you both. You have shown me the strength possesed by mankind. Perhaps men have long been walking on their own without our aid. Perhaps I simply refused to see it. And alas, Duma was no different. I entrust Falchion to your care. I pray you will use it to free my brother from the depths of his pain.

- Note: The Divine Dragon of Zofia, whose power was sealed in the Valentian Falchion. After using the last of her power to revive Celica, her soul tells Alm to put her brother, Duma, out of his misery, before fading away.
- Aah... This cannot be... It mustn't... Lord Duma... My Lord... Duma...
- Who: Jedah
- Note: The head of the Duma Faithful, seeking to revive Duma and make his religion the sole religion of the continent of Valentia. Says this after being killed by Alm and Celica's party.
- So be it, Alm. I leave Valentia's future to you, her hero. Take from us what lesssons you will and shape her into a land to remember. Make her strong like Duma, and fill her with Mila's love. Let our grave mistakesbe warnings of where not to tread as you lead her forth. Now, we shall sleep. And never shall you disturb our slumber.

- Note: The Divine Dragon of Rigel, who has gone mad with power. After Alm uses the Valentian Falchion to mercy kill Duma, he goes into an "eternal slumber". His remains would later be moved to another location which would become the Demon's Ingle a thousand years later during the events of Fire Emblem Awakening.
Fire Emblem Warriors[edit]
- D--Darios... You fool...
- Oskar
- Note: Darios's father and the king of Gristonne. Seeing that Yelena (Rowan and Lianna's mother) was saved from being sacrificed for Velezark's rebirth, he scolds Darios for the plan being ruined. But the possessed Darios runs his sword through his father as he has royal blood. Oskar says this to his son before collapsing and being used for Velezark's resurrection.

- Who: Darios
- Notes: The prince of Gristonne who was Rowan and Lianna's teacher but became possessed by Velezark. Upon being beaten, he hopes the twins will kill him to atone for his sins, to which they refused. With Velezark revived, he attempts to kill the twins, but Darios takes the blow. He then says this after throwing the young Aytolis royals the Fire Shield and before falling into the abyss.
Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes[edit]
- My name is Ludwig von Aegir! I see the Empire in the throes of a terrible sickness, and I intend to cure it or die in the attempt.
- Who: Duke Ludwig von Aegir
- Notes: Said in the Scarlet Blaze story while engaging those loyal to Edelgard. After a brutal fight, Ferdinand decrees "Father. No...you are just a traitor now. In light of your crimes against the Empire, the punishment is DEATH!" then beheads him with his spear.
- None for you. But tell me something, boy. does it trouble you to slay your own kin? What a surprise. I did not think you capable of sympathy, craven monster that you are. (Dimitri: (readies his sword) Yes. But either way, I do what I must.) Well. To perish by your hand... It is a fate that I much deserve.
- Who: Rufus Thierry Blaiddyd
- Notes: Said when he is to be capitally punished for attempting to usurp the throne of Faerghus. He accepts his fate and Dimitri kills him with a sword but feels no joy from it.
